Zoe sat at her desk, a pile of paperwork in front of her, but she couldn’t concentrate on it. After she had dropped Stephen off at the hotel, she had headed to Town Hall. She didn’t need to be at work. Sam was picking up a lot of the load so she could be available for whatever Stephen needed. Apparently making sure this project went through as planned was important enough to Sam that he was willing to do double duty. But Stephen’s foot had been throbbing and he’d said he wouldn’t be able to go out to meet with people until the next day.
