Elara The next morning I met Kael at a small café near campus. I tried to act cool, like nothing had happened. I smiled when he waved at me, let him kiss my cheek, and listened as he talked about his headache and how sorry he was for leaving the party early. “It won’t happen again, baby,” he said, holding my hand across the table. I nodded and laughed at his jokes, but inside my head was a mess. Every time I looked at him, I remembered Damien’s warning. And worse every time I moved, I still felt the ache between my legs from what Damien did to me on my bed. I pushed the thoughts away and told myself I was just tired. Kael seemed sweet today.
