Yanex Once her breathing evened out, I knew she was asleep. I kissed her on her forehead and slipped out of bed. I wanted to lay there with her, enjoy her scent, and comfort her, but we still had enemies lurking in the dark. I went toward the dresser, dressed in the first thing I could pull out: black basketball shorts and a black t-shirt. I knew she would come looking for me when she missed my touch in the bed. Glancing back at her sleeping form, I snuck out of the bedroom and walked toward my office. I walked straight to the wet bar, grabbing a glass and pouring a heft amount of the scotch my father left here. I couldn’t wait to get the f**k out of here.
