*** "We are almost out, Mara," Stella said to me. She squeezes my fingers. "My car is parked outside. We can leave this rubbish night behind us." But we did not make it to the door. Suddenly, a shadow steps out from the office near the exit. My heart drops. It is Rico , what does he want again I asked myself The nice smile he used with Tony Vincent is completely gone. Now, his face looks mean , like stone. He crosses his arms over his grey suit and stares at me with cold, greedy eyes. "Where do you think you are off to, Mara?" Rico asks. "She is going home, Rico," Stella steps in front of me bravely. She tries to speak up on my behalf. "You saw what happened out there. Tony humiliated her. She cannot work tonight so she needs to get some rest." Rico scoffs. He looks at Stella like she is an annoying bug. Then he looks back at me. He steps closer, and I can smell his cheap cologne. "I do not care about her tears or her frock," Rico snaps. He points a thick finger at the floor. "The Obsidian Club is a business, not a charity place. Mara has not made me a single pound today. You cannot go home yet. You have to stay and earn your keep." "Please, Rico," Stella begs with tears in her own eyes as she tries to protect me. "Let her go. I will stay. I will work until the sun comes up to pay for Mara's share tonight. Just let her go home. Please." I look at Stella, and my heart feels very big. She is willing to break her own back just to keep me safe but I know Rico. He does not have a heart. Rico lets out a loud, evil laugh, he shakes his head, "There is nothing you can do to pay for this, Stella," Rico says with a twist of his lips. "You cannot work for her because a mysterious man has already paid a huge amount of cash to spend the entire night with Mara." My eyes go wide with fear. "What?" I whisper. "Yes. He paid upfront, and I am not ready to disappoint a client who has that much wealth. If you satisfy this client tonight, Mara, it means I am going to get extra money tomorrow morning." "Rico, please, no," I beg you, "Not tonight. I can't do it tonight." "You will do it," Rico says, He grabs my arm roughly, pulling me away from Stella. "If you walk out of that door, I will throw you and your mate onto the street, and you will never come near this club again. Do you understand me?" I look back at Stella. She looks completely helpless. I cannot let Stella lose her job because of me. I have to put my armor back on, even if it is broken. "Right," I say softly, looking at the floor. "I will do it." "Mara, no!" Stella cries out, but Rico pushes her back into the office and locks the inner door. "Follow me," Rico commands. He leads me up the private VIP rooms on the top floor. My heart is beating so fast like a trapped bird. We walk down a long, corridor with red wallpaper. Finally, we stop in front of Room 303. Rico turns to me with his mean smile. "Go inside. Make sure he gets exactly what he paid for." Then, he turns around and leaves me standing all alone in front of the door. I stand in front of the door for a few seconds. I take a deep, breath. There is something very creepy going on, and the air feels heavy. I slowly turn the gold brass doorknob, and push the door open. I step inside the room, and I stop dead in my tracks. I cannot believe my own eyes. The room is large and grand, the person sitting on the bed is Tony Vincent. He is not alone, there are two pretty club girls on the bed with him, one on his right side and one on his left side. The girl on the right is slowly rubbing his chest while the girl on the left is down by his lap, slowly rubbing his d**k. My tummy turns with disgust. I instantly take a big step backward, wanting to run away. Tony looks up and sees me , his eyes are full of dangerous pride. He looks at me standing and a dark chuckle comes out of his throat. "What are you doing standing there by the door, club girl?" Tony says with a loud, arrogant smirk. He points down at his lap. "Come over here. Come suck the milk out of my d**k and let me take you on a good ride tonight. I paid heavily for you." A hot wave of anger and hatred rushes through my veins and I cannot take it anymore. I open my mouth, and I spit right on the rug in front of his bed. "I can’t, and I will never lay in bed with a monster like you," I say. My voice is steady now . "You can buy the whole club, Tony Vincent, but you cannot buy me. You are so disgusting." The two girls on the bed gasp, stopping their hands. They look at me like I am mad. Tony's smile vanishes for a second, then he lets out a booming laugh that fills the whole room. He leans forward, staring at me like a cat staring at a mouse. "You don't have a choice, Mara," Tony says. His voice is dead serious now. "Look at where you are. I paid Rico more money than you will see in your whole life so that means I own your body for tonight. Tony turns his head slightly and looks at the girl sitting on his right side. "Go get her," he commands coldly. "Drag her to the bed." The girl nods and slides off the mattress, walking towards me to grab my shoulders. Fear explodes inside my chest. I have to save myself before the girl can reach me, I turn around, grab the doorknob, and yank the door open. I throw myself out into the corridor and start running as fast as my shoes can take me. "Hey! Stop !" I hear the girl shout from the room. I didn’t look back, I sprint down the narrow corridor. My breath ragged gasps. I feel like I am running for my life from a beast. My eyes are blurry with fresh tears. Suddenly, as I round a sharp corner of the corridor I didn’t see what is ahead. I slam hard into a broad chest. "Whoa, slow down," a deep, calm voice says. The smash makes me lose my balance, and my feet slip on the floor. I start to fall backward, but a strong hands instantly catch me. They wrap gently but firmly around my waist, holding me up so I do not fall onto the ground. I look up, blinking away my tears. Standing in front of me is a strange handsome man. He is tall, with a kind eyes and a sharp, clean jawline. His face looks safe. His hands feel warm and protective through my jacket. I look back and I can hear the door of Tony's people coming out to look for me. I am desperate. I reach out and grab the stranger close to myself . I look into his eyes and beg him with everything I have left. "Please help me," I sob, my voice trembling with terror. "Please, just take me away somewhere. Get me out of this place. I’d rather spend the night with a stranger than go back to that monster."
