Dazed and Confused

Cara's shift went by smoothly. She didn't drink the coffee bought for her out if worry it was in the hands of people she didn't know. After submitting her check out and counting her tips, she walked outside around 1 p.m. The sun was bright and the sky clear of clouds but the temperature in New Orleans was oddly cold. As she waited for the street car, she kept shivering and holding her arms close. A homeless lady was walking in her direction with a bucket of single roses. She sold them for two dollars a rose and it was always a popular way to make a buck for couples on dates later in the evening. Cara decided to grab a light pink one, handing the woman a five and telling her to keep the change. After boarding the street car, Cara smelled the rose and sat staring out the window in her normal routine. She made a pit stop at the sweet old ladies house and left the rose on her door step, hurrying back to the stop to wait for the next street car. Once again, Cara felt a chill that shook her in her spine and an overwhelming feeling of being watched. She looked up and down the bustling street and couldn't pin point a single set of eyes focused solely on her. She turned back to the sweet old lady's house and saw a dark figure move just out of view on the side of the house. She kept her eyes on the spot for as long as it took for her to hear the next street car rolling up. Cara reluctantly turned and boarded the street car, paying her fair and finding a seat closer to the front. When she turned back to the spot she was fixated on before, a figure moved out of her eye sight again...
