Applewood was a well known community outside of Middletown. It was little over thirty miles outside of the county. In mid July apple season brought tourists and locals far and wide to sample the local apple butter and participate in the Apple Festival. Come winter, when all the tourists head home: hunting season for locals begins. Natives and locals alike prepare for this time of year as the hunted meat gets stored for the remainder of winter lasting some families up until early summer.
