Leslie would take her dad's truck along with Jon and Nikki. It was a good truck, a few years old. It was owned by her grandfather and maintained until it was passed down to Gregory who was now giving it to Leslie. It had been recently fixed up for the winter. So the tires had air and the engine had plenty of oil and was ready to survive the autumn and winter in the mountains. The tank was full and if ever they needed there was a gas can along with an emergency roadside kit in the bed of the truck. Since the truck could only fit two people Jon volunteered to ride in the back. They made sure they had their backpacks with a small amount of supplies in case they had to be out longer than expected.
