There was no sense in going back to the other side of town with that kind of threat looming. With everyone boarded the van would head off toward City Hall. At the end of the street they would turn south only Harper Avenue where naught but empty lots sat on either side of the street until they crossed through Mercy street, the hospital to the west and the trainstation’s ticket office to the west. Crossing back over the tracks they would soon see the open parking lots of city hall, mostly used for workers, but there were spaces set aside for visitors as well.
