The cursed mates

Ryan’s POV

There she was. God she was as beautiful as the sunrise. When she came down the stairs with her brother our beta Ian I froze. Our beta said she wouldn’t talk to us unless he was present. My brother got up and went to go to her but she went even further behind her brother and started shaking. My poor mate. She was terrified of us. My brother tried to get her to touch him or at least talk but she didn’t move a muscle. Reese finally pushed me to move from my seat on the couch. I moved to stand next to my brother. I got down on my knee and slowly stuck my hand out like one would with a scared child or animal. She looked at my hand like it was a snake but when she looked up and made eye contact my future flashed in my eyes. My mate cuddled up next to me, her stomach growing with my pup, her being the luna to the pack, and my wife. She slowly made her way out from behind her brother looking at us both like we were crazy. When she spoke the sound of her voice flowed over me like water.

“Why are you here?”

She asked. I couldn’t believe my ears. Why wouldn’t we be here. She’s our mate.

“Because your our mate beautiful. We wouldn’t be anywhere else then here.”

“But, but you guys both hate me. You called me runt and ugly.”

It broke my heart hearing the nickname I had given her and the fact that my brother had called her ugly once. I don’t know how I’m supposed to earn the love of my little mate but I will do whatever it takes to get her to be my mate.

“Yes we have said those things, but we are so so sorry. We didn’t mean those things baby please give us a chance to right our wrongs.”

That’s when I saw it in her eyes the flash of fire and attitude and it immediately turned me on. f**k. I could not get hard right now it was not the time.

“ you wouldn’t even be here if it weren’t for the f*****g mate bond. You wouldn’t care less about me if it weren’t for this stupid mate bond. You only are saying these things now because I’m your mate. I don’t believe a damn word coming out of either of your mouths. Don’t call me baby and don’t call me beautiful. You both have girlfriends who are the captain and co captain of the cheer squad. I was never even a blip on your radar unless it was to humiliate me. For years you guys hated me and bullied me. So I don’t believe anything either of you are saying. Get out and leave me the f**k alone.”

Fuck. This little mate of ours has a mouth on her.

“Oh how I would love to teach her a lesson.”

Reese growled in my mind.

“Not now”

I told him. Now is not the time when we have so much making up to do with our mate. I pushed him to the back of my mind not wanting him to make anymore unwarranted comments towards our little luna.

“We are not leaving until you let us make up for everything.”

My brother said and I immediately knew that was the wrong choice of words based of her and her brothers reactions.

“Alpha with all due respect but please leave. She doesn’t want you here.”

I grabbed my brothers arm and pulled him back. He pulled out of my grip but I grabbed him again and forced him out of the house.

“If you want our mate to accept us you have to give her space to come to terms with everything. Forcing our presence onto her won’t help it’ll just push her further away.”

“f**k I know your right Ryan but it hurts to leave her. What if space does the exact opposite and pushes her further away.”

I’ve never seen my brother like this. Him and I have always been confident and sure of ourselves but with our mate we are scrambling to get sentences out.

“The first issue she pointed out was that we have girlfriends. Let’s go break things off with le’ Ann and Brittany ok.”

“Yeah ok”

My brother and I left our mate behind. With every step away we took it felt like a blow to my heart. Even though we weren’t fully mated yet I could still feel the distance between us. We asked the girls to meet us at the aurora cafe so we could make a clean break from them.

“Hey girls can you sit please. We have something we want to discuss with you two.”

They both sat down and shared a look. Even though I was with le’ Ann I never saw an actual future with her. She wasn’t my fated mate so I never actually gave myself to her. I know it sounds weird that an alpha was still a virgin but I wanted my first time to be with my mate.

“Le you know we aren’t fated mates right?”

“Yeah? So what if we aren’t fated mates your mine until you find yours.”

“Le I found her. Actually my brother and I found our fated mate. She belongs to both of us. Both of us belong to her. So I can’t be with you anymore Le. It’s not fair to my mate and it’s not fair to lead you on so I’m breaking up with you.”

“What! You can’t be serious! You just turned 18 baby there’s no way you already found her! Your mine and mine only!”

“Le we are over. We are no longer together I can’t be with you when I have found my mate.”

“This isn’t over Ryan”

I watched as le’ Ann stormed off and Brittany followed close behind. I didn’t here my brother and Brittany’s conversation because of how le’ Ann reacted. s**t. I knew this wasn’t going to be good based off of her reaction but I just hoped my little luna wouldn’t have to deal with the drama.
