Perplexity and doubt rush through me in almost the same measure. I stared at Lincoln for the longest time and I couldn't tell whether he was occupied or idling when he didn't even sense my scrutinizing gaze. Executed were his last words before he ended the call and placed the telephone on the bedside table. Lincoln stared seriously at the floor before shifting towards my direction. When he saw me staring at him, his reaction changed from an intimidating expression to a soft look, which made my “Hey, did I wake you up?” he asked quietly and lay down beside me.
