Vedant's POV
There’s only ten minutes left until I need to meet with Iris to celebrate her eighteenth birthday. I grab my phone and head outside, making my way to a nearby park for some privacy. I think about my offer for her to join my pack, she hadn’t given me an answer.
Still, I’m not worried. Apart from Simon, Iris is my best friend, and the only one who really understands me. She knows what it’s like to fail to live up to the strict standards of pack life.
Losing my brother and mother so close together deeply impacted my dad. He became a broken man, and although some time has passed, he’s never really recovered. He isn’t the same man I grew up with but instead a harsh man who is impossible to please.
