After the initial address to the new inductees, they finally understood the mechanics of the whole procedures. What the new inductees need was the information that covers the whole infrastructure of Gracehaven but not nearly all of the economic functions.
After the pioneers had brought the new inductees around the whole town and introducing the structures and its functions, it was already coming to the end of the day for all workers.
"Your Majesty, so these bamboo structures are mobile and would be able to be shifted about for future expansions, am I right? How effective would the bamboo structures in stopping marauders and wild beasts?"
Old Mann was inquiring about the functions of the bamboo defensive structures as Eagle, Ben and Frank each took turns to explain it to them. Old Kayla, Gwen and Michelle explained on the classroom, the infirmary as well as the Waterwheel works that greatly aids the community throughout.
After giving them a brief introduction of how things work and being managed around Gracehaven, Ben and Frank began to allocate the new accommodations for the inductees and they brought their personal effects from the wagons and into their new homes.
Old Jack reminded the new inductees that dinner would be served and was told to congregate in the courtyard after they had settled down with their personal matters. Everyone nodded and went about their affairs. 18 new houses were allocated to them as the invalids were paired off in two's per house.
With the buddy system installed, at least the militant invalids would be able to depend on each other rather than to others in terms of liability. From the looks of it, they seemed pretty reassured of their wellbeing here in Gracehaven.
"Your Majesty seems like the new inductees would be able to fit in nicely among the community. So right after dinner and the night conference, we would announce the Community Chest to them or would you be open for suggestions?"
Eagle voiced his opinions as the pioneers huddled together to discuss what's good for the new inductees. Besides, Old Mann was a militiaman and was in charge of the pikeman division. Even at his age, his expertise would also be an advantage for those in need.
"Alright, we will discuss right after the night conference. We will see who would be extrovert to speak their minds in order to help things rolling for Gracehaven."
"I know you all had been Itching to have our forms of militia one way or another right? As I've mentioned before, a calm river doesn't mean there are no predators our there, right?"
The pioneers nodded their heads in agreement and dispersed as they went about their affairs. Since the day had ended early for them, they helped out to arrange the dining tables and benches in the courtyard.
"Dear, are you intending to set up some military forces for our citizens to take up arms?"
"Yup... Definitely. We can never be ready to face our invisible enemies out there. At any point in time, we should be prepared to face off. The Hundred Years War is not over yet so it might roll on for the next few more years to come."
"Besides, the Great crunch is showing its ugly head and what we need to do is to prepare ourselves for the worse. If not for the Priests and Priestesses assistance, I don't think we would be able to see those crops harvesting at an alarming rate that would in turn help to feed our citizens, don't you think so?"
I explained to Heather as I watched the horizon of golden crop fields that would be ready to be harvested in a couple of days. Everything is down to the blood, sweat and tears of the citizens of Gracehaven. Without them, nothing is possible.

After the nightly conference, addressing the tasks that had been accomplished for the day, the topic now moved to the new inductees. They were seated at the front-most seats in the courtyard and soon I called the representative of the new inductees, Old Mann to stand up and address the whole community.
"Good evening to all... My name is Old Mann and we hail from Burghbrig also known as Boroughbridge just beyond yonder. 22 of us were the last few remaining residents over there and when we first entered here we were...."
Old Mann addressed the community as they listened intently. This was not the first time they had heard about new inductees mentioning about then structure of the town when they first stepped in.
Besides, the facade of the bamboo structures surrounding Gracehaven denotes how 'poorly' our defences might look like in terms of warding off any enemy troops at all. Little did people knew that there were layers of defensive mechanisms that had been installed before the bamboo structures.
A little while later, a guardsman came over and alerted Eagle that they had seen 2 figures and a donkey that were seen heading towards the entrance gate from where the herb garden was.
Even though the entrance was underutilised, it doesn't mean the security was lax over there. Eagle noted of the 2 unexpected visitors that were heading towards the entrance and informed the guardsman to escort the visitors upon gaining entry.
The guardsman nodded in acknowledgement and continued his duties to monitor the situation over at the small entrance.

"Your Majesty, there's a report of 2 figures and livestock heading towards the side entrance of the medicinal herb garden. They are heading here and judging by their walking speed, they should be here in about 30 minutes or so."
"Oh...? Another batch of visitors? It seemed today we have quite an influx of inductees, eh? Have you managed to gather more Intel?"
"Not that I know of at this moment of time, Your Majesty. From the looks, the 2 figures looked like teenagers and they don't seem to have any intention of harm. This report is sent by one of the advancing scouts within the area."
"Sorry to barge in on the conversation, Your Majesty... But the aura of the figures approaching seems rather familiar. It might be that one of them is a witch just like us."
Penelope came along and informed me of her findings as she felt the aura of an awaken one heading towards Gracehaven. Only she had the ability to detect an awaken one among a group of commoners and this proves to be an added advantage to the group of Priest and Priestesses.
Besides, with her ability, it would be easy for her to coax the person to actually divulge information and special abilities the person possesses so that it would either be seen as a tool to enhance the lives of the community as well as the economic, in some certain cases.
"Woah... We are going to have another sister or brother soon, eh? At least we both won't be the young ones anymore within the group. Hehe. I can't wait to see the look on their faces and also to learn what their abilities are."
Farah and Imelda both squealed with delight when they discovered that there were 2 figures heading towards Gracehaven and one of them was a witch endowed with special abilities. The thought of adding the number of forces among the Priests and Priestesses excites not only the two girls but also to the rest of them as well.
They wondered what kind of special abilities the new witch would be endowed with.
