As we concluded the discussion earlier, Ben and the rest of the pioneers embarked on the plan to prepare the necessary manpower and resources for the making of these pinch pots with lids that could at least hold about ¼ fluid pound in it securely.
Besides, they would need to find the right sizes of clay balls for the children to mould into perfectly sized pinch pots in the future. Ben would be preparing the moulds for the solid Hair and Body Wash blocks to be shaped accordingly and he had the right idea for them — a 5 by 5 equally sized mould that could hold the liquid in place.
Besides making them into 25 pieces per pass would be easier to accountable in the near future. The distribution of these Hair and Body Wash liquid and solid blocks would not be based per individual here in Gracehaven but as a family pack.
Once the samples are done, our citizens would be the first to have them to try them out first even though its the start of the winter season...!
Who would have thought to shower in the cold weather just to test these new products, innit eh?
Next, the gatherers would be preparing the essences that are readily available which was stored in bushels inside the chiller of the cold storages. Since there was an abundance of lemon, they decided to make 50 pounds nett weight for our residents first.
However, Marcel would need to find out the sources of where to acquire the olive oils to manufacture these Hair and Body Wash as well as its price. If the price was desirable, it would be bought in bulk.
"Dear, could you help me to calculate these proportions of ingredients? I truly am hopeless when comes to these calculations." I pushed the piece of paper on the table towards Heather as I noted a nett weight of 50 pounds at the top.
Since the quantity given by the gatherers were based on a ¼ cup and ⅛ cup kind of measurement, Heather called upon Jennings and Hereford who were more proficient in taking down weights.
"25 pounds of liquid makes 40 cups so you just need to calculate 20 cups of animal oils, 10 cups of lye, 3 cups of the essence with 2 cups of water to make the Hair and Body Wash in liquid form. Even if it's 35 pounds at most, but you can get the rough idea, Your Majesty."
Hereford and Jennings were haggling for the right measurements when they came up with a near-perfect solution after a while. Heather took note of the measurements and would be waiting for Marcel to send the good news.
All he need was to send a few carrier pigeons with messages to the 4 dignitaries and helped him seek the answers that everyone was looking for.
Marcel and Eagle excised themselves as they went to the windmill where the pigeons were roosting and Marcel quickly asked the messages to be relayed accordingly. After the tasks were done, Eagle let the pigeons on their flight.
They returned shortly after and after we had made sure we had not forgotten anything, the pioneers set off to work.
The deforestation had gone without any problems and as for lye, it was normally found in the ashes of burnt wood. There was a lot of ashes found around the courtyard as the food preparation area, as well as the bakery, were still using wood for their source of fuel. Even the Gracehaven's Greasy Spoon had no end to its supply as well.
The ash was later sorted out and filtered out, leaving only the fine flour-like texture behind that would be soluble when the oil, water and essence were mixed and stirred.
Preparations were underway to pick the sizes of the clay balls which would be moulded by the children's hands. As the work area had been separated into two sections, the preparation and production could be said as seamless.
Suddenly a familiar figure came out from Old Jack's Blacksmith as he carried with him a small keg and placed it in the middle of the courtyard. The person stretched himself before he stood precariously on the wooden keg before he cleared his throat as he delivered his next prophesy.
"Hear ye... Hear ye... Hear ye... Within a week, a wild beast would be rampaging our little town. Everyone would get ready to take arms and defend our town. Hear ye... Hear ye... Hear ye..."
The message that was relayed by Samuel the Seer was repeated thrice throughout the courtyard and those who heard it repeated the message to all those who had not heard it from the courtyard.
Soon, everyone knows about the imminent rampage by a wild beast to our little town and the only thing that kept everyone in the dark was what kind of wild beast would rampage us?
If it's a normal wild beast, the bamboo barricades should do the trick and why the need to take arms instead? The questions remained unanswered as Samuel carried the small wooden keg and places it at the side of the Blacksmith.
When he was approached by some of the citizens, he was unable to shed much light on it. All he could say was "Take arms and prevent it from rampaging out town".
"Could you kindly bring Samuel here, Eagle? Let us ask him some questions to get some clues." Eagle then bowed slightly to us and hurried down and back with Samuel in tow within a short while.
"Samuel, take a seat. So tell me something, you had a vision of wild beasts rampaging our town?" I motioned for Samuel to take a seat and he felt reprimanded and lowered his head for fear that his shot off the mouth would bring him and Donkey back to the wilderness once again.
"Y... Yes, Y... Your Majesty. A single wild beast that rampages our town, on the verge of destruction on its wake." Samuel replied as he looked down on the ground as if he was talking to his pair of leather shoes.
"But we have barricades, don't we? It would be enough to stop it and also provide meat for us as well... Hahaha."
"No... Your Majesty. This wild beast can walk over it. Break the barricades like it was made of twigs. Meat and blood cannot be eaten. It is poisonous. It has a hard shell armour and it's very nimble on its feet."
"I envisioned it crushing the gates, bringing one tower down and also injuring a lot of children at the classroom and also some workers at the production area."
Samuel was wide-eyed in terror when he relates to how the situation was going to be like. A prophecy like that could not be taken lightly. Walk over the barricades and crush them like twigs?
"Walk over and not crawl over like a turtle or tortoise, you mean?"
"Yes, Your Majesty. Walks over the barricade. Breaking them and not getting hurt at all."
From the description that Samuel had given, the wild beast would be coming in from the left side of the domain where the clay production area was situated.
A wild beast walking over a 5 feet barricade and with a hard shell armour besides being a tortoise with inedible and poisonous meat.
What kind of wild beast was that that would be attacking Gracehaven in a weeks time?!
