Marie
There is a knock at the door, I hesitate to open it. I look at Brutus, he looks unbothered. He stands there wagging his tail, waiting for the door to open. I pull the knob and open the door. I see my dad standing there. He chuckles as he see my mouth wide open. He hangs up the phone as he leans in to give me a kiss on the cheek.
“Dad! How did you get here so fast?!”
“It’s a long story. Hi, Brutus,” my dad leans over, scratching the big puppy behind the ear. Bru hangs his tongue out in appreciation. Ollie catches wind of his grandpa being there and squeals. He walks as fast as his little legs can carry him. He stands in front of my dad, holding his arms above his head, opening and closing his little hands. My dad picks him up and throws him in the air. Ollie laughs uncontrollably.
“Pops missed you, little buddy!”
“Ops! Ops! Ops!” Ollie shrieks while laughing. I watch Joey stand up, nervously walking to my dad. He stands straight like a soldier ready for inspections.
“Hi, Mr…” Joey says awkwardly. I realized I never told him my last name. It to me everything in my might to not slap my forehead.
“Mr. Richard Kimberly,” my dad politely introduces himself. Shifting Ollie to his other arm, sticking his right hand out for a handshake.
“And you are?” My dad looks at Joey suspiciously, eyeing him up and down.
Joey takes my father’s hand and shakes it firmly.
“I am Joseph Boyd, nice to meet you sir.”
“Ah! The dragon!” My dads blue eyes twinkle at the realization.
“You finally found the right man, Marie,” my dad teases me playfully as he rubs his fingers through his white hair. I look at him in surprise.
“You knew about the dragon?!” I go to sit down in the armchair. I have a feeling I was about to get information overload. Joey sits on the couch next to me, rubbing my arm. The tingles relax me, helping me to process what is going on. My dad sits across from me in the vacant armchair, setting Ollie on the ground. Brutus lays down next to Ollie, watching his every move. My dad turns to Gabriel, giving him a wide smile.
“Hello, Gabe. Nice to see you again.” He give the man a handshake.
“You too, Richard.” Gabriel gives him a big grin back.
I get back up and go back to the kitchen. When I return, I hand my dad a mug full of tea. I have a feeling we are going to be here for a while, so I try to make everyone comfortable. I snuggle back into the chair. I grab Joey’s hand and entwine my fingers in his, preparing myself for what’s to come. My dad turns to look at me, “I am sorry, Marie. There is a lot I have to tell you. I kept these things from you because I thought it would keep you both safe.”
Richard
“First, I need to start off by telling you, Marie, I am not human. I wanted you, and everyone to believe I was… it was safer to hide you.” I sigh and rub my hand over my face. “You see, sweetheart, we are angels…” I suck in a breath and hold it in, anxious to hear Marie’s response.
“No way!” Joey says with a big grin. Marie’s blue eyes are wide with disbelief. Gabe is laughing at their reaction.
“I’m an angel?,” she asks quietly.
“Well angel, witch hybrid. You are extremely powerful, and rare. Oliver is even more rare. He is angel, demon, and warlock.” Marie spits out her tea out all over the carpet, and starts coughing uncontrollably. Joey jumps up, rubbing her back as she finishes her coughing fit.
“Can you please explain to me how my little Ollie is a demon?!” She looks down at the toddler with concern.
“Well, Damion is a demon. It took me while to figure it out. He is good at cloaking himself because he is a higher demon. He is dangerous, cruel, and heartless. But you experienced that first hand, Marie,” I look at her with tears in my eyes. She had gone off to college at 18. She called me saying she met a wonderful guy named, Damion. She sounded happy, she had the perfect boyfriend. Her calls started to become less frequent, until the stopped all together. I was heartbroken. I searched everywhere for her, asked as many people I could to help. One day, a little after her 21st birthday she showed up on my door step, bloody, bruised, traumatized, and pregnant. I helped her heal and got her into therapy. By the time Ollie arrived into the world, she was back to her old self. Back to being my beautiful baby girl.
“Damion’s ultimate goal is to get his hands on Ollie. He is trying to put an old prophecy into play. He needs an angel, demon hybrid to fulfill it. The fact Oliver is a warlock is an added bonus. Thankfully, Joey here came into your life when he did. He is the key to helping stop the prophecy.” I look over at Marie. She is holding Ollie, rocking him back and forth. She has tears streaming down her face, clearly overwhelmed.
“If Damion gets his hands on Oliver, we are all screwed.” I continue. I hear a growl from Joey, he looks ready to kill.
“No one will take what is MINE! Oliver is mine, Marie is MINE!” Joey shouts. He knees down in front of Marie and Ollie, taking her face in his hands. He kisses her gently on the forehead.
“I will keep you both safe, please don’t worry,” he begs my daughter. He wraps them both in a hug, making me smile.
“We need to go to talk to my parents, Tally, and Alpha Kane. I am sure Kane would be willing to send out a few warriors to help protect the property. And Tally can fill us in on the prophecy,” Joey says as he pulls out his phone.
“Mom, hey! We are coming over. We need to talk about something important. Can you call Tally, as well? Oh, she is already there. Great! Thank you, we will see you in about an hour.” He hangs up and looks at Marie.
“Mom said Tally showed about about 20 minutes ago saying she was waiting on us,” he explains.
“Don’t fret. We will figure this out, my angel,” he runs his fingers through her hair and gives her another kiss on the forehead.
“Can you excuse us for a moment? I need to talk to Joey,” Marie says as she grabs his hand pulling him into her bedroom. She gently shuts the door.
Joseph
Marie pulls me into the bedroom, shutting the door. She jumps into my arms, hugging me tightly.
“I’m sorry, I couldn’t help myself. All this stress is getting to me,” she says shyly. She lays her head on my chest and inhales deeply. I feel her muscles relax in my hold. She tilts her head up. I look deep into her eyes, letting her scent fill my mind. She wraps her arms around neck, pulling me closer to her. I am engulfed in tingles, then Marie crushes her lips on mine, melting into me. It evolves into a wild, desperate kiss. I ,sadly, have to break the kiss. She whimpers in protest when I pull away.
“We will have more time tonight,” I whisper in her ear.
“I will make you scream my name to the heavens, thanking all the gods for bringing us together.” She stops and looks at me with flushed cheeks. She reaches into my pants, grabbing my hardness. She rubs the tip with her thumb while licking her lips. I can smell her arousal, making the dragon in me go insane. He wanted to mate and mark her right there. I let out an appreciative growl. I wanted to make her wiggle, moan, and scream my name over and over.
“I can’t wait to relieve some stress tonight.” She winks at me and pulls me back out of the bedroom.
“Let’s all load into the truck, Ollie’s already set up in there,” I say, trying to get this moving so I can come back to have time with my mate.
“The great adventure continues!” Richard proclaims. Marie giggles.
