Matthew was yet to recover from Allison’s impulsive act when she suddenly said goodnight. She bowed her head and asked Matthew to push her wheelchair to the door. Then she asked him to stop and headed to the elevator on her own. He was left dazed and when he attempted to follow Allison, the elevator door closed. Matthew smiled at himself and touched his lips.
“Ehem,” someone cleared his throat behind him.
Matthew turned his head and saw Scott standing a few steps away from him. He withdrew the smile on his face and in a serious tone, he asked, “How long have you been standing there?”
“Just now, Sir.” Scott offered his hand, so he could retrieve the car key from Matthew.
Matthew nodded his head. Scott looked at him with concern when his stomach started to rumble. He realized just the
