Chapter four

Micah was busy going through a document when his office door was pushed open and Jack walked in "hi" he said and Micah didn't even look up from his work before replying

"What are you doing here?" He asked and Jack walked forward before taking a sit

"She is here" he said

"Who is?" Micah asked without looking up

"The girl from yesterday" Jack said and Micah raised his head to look at him for three seconds

"Oh" he said and return his gaze to his work

"Aren't you curious?" Jack asked

"About what? I told you to hire her so what should I be curious about?" He looked up at him and asked with a frown

"Her name?" Jack asked and he let out an "oh" before retuning his eyes to the document in his hands

"What is it then?" He asked casually and Jack chuckled and this got Micah to look up at him again with a raised eyebrow "what?" He asked

"Nothing" Jack replied "her name is Alicia Kings, she is twenty five years, the only child of her mother, lost her mother when she was ten and her father remarried then giving birth to twins, boys, her stepmother..." Jack was saying

"I asked for her name not her life story" Micah interrupted and Jack smiled

"I was thinking you might be interested in her, so I'm giving you a head start" Jack said Micah rolled his eyes

"Not interested" he said immediately "and by the way, how do you get to know all this about her, it's not work related"

"Oh, she told me herself" Jack said

"Mmm" Micah replied before continuing with his work

"She is angelic Micah, nice voice and a beautiful captivating smile" Jack said and at the mention of her smile, a smiling face popped up in Micah's mind and he remembered how he thought about that to her smile too

"She is good in a keeping a conversation but she has only one problem though, she talks too much" Jack said and Micah gave a faint smile while concentrating on his work

"She acts like that when stressed" he said and Jack looked at him

"How did you know that?" He asked

"She told me herself" Micah said nonchalantly while he saw that face with a very captivating smile in his mind again, he blinked to push it off before focusing his attention on his work

"Oh okay" jack said " well she has started already" he said and Micah nodded, acting like he is no longer interested in the discussion, Jack stared at him for a little while before standing up and walking out of the office and Micah buried himself in his work.

Micah went out to eat at the restaurant that was opposite the company, it's where most of his workers take their lunch break and as usual, they filled the whole place up, Micah walked straight to the VIP area and sat down while waiting for Jack to be done with his work in other to join him. He casually glanced around the area, taking in the faces he sees everyday at work before his eyes settled on a blonde in ponytail, she was sitted in the circle of her coworkers, they seem to be introducing their selves since she was new, when ever someone talks to her, she smile so charmingly at them before nodding or replying them with words which he can't hear since they were a little far from him, he seems to recall everything that Jack said about her that morning and can't help but sigh, lost her mother, that must be very painful, he thought.

Her eyes was mesmerizing, a light shade of emerald green, it twinkles which left Micah dazed while staring at them, he don't know but there was something different about her not like he is ever going to let himself find out, he is done with women, they are nothing but Heartbreakers, no matter the time and love you invested in them, they will still break your heart and leave you once they think they have found someone better, he still remembers his experience with Zana as if it was yesterday, when they first met, the first time they kissed and the very first time he confessed to her, she had been so happy with her eyes twinkling in the night as if they were stars, she had readily replied her feelings too then and kissed him, that night was the first night they slept together, she wasn't a virgin then but he was and he had told himself that day that she will be the only woman he will kiss or touch, he had been working towards making her his permanently but he was not in a rush, he had believed that with how close and in love they both were, that nothing and no one can ever come in between them and so had been taking his time, enjoying their relationship and their time alone before they starts building a family, if he had known that he will lose her at the end then he would have married her earlier, even before Jacob comes into the picture.

He closed his eyes and shook his head to shake off her memory, he hates it when he just starts thinking about her just like that, not that he hadn't tried to stop but that he can't, he will be thinking about something else and before he knows it, he will be thinking about her instead, he doesn't use to know when he slips and starts thinking about her, it just happen like it did a while ago, he clearly remembered he was looking at his new female worker just now and then suddenly he was already thinking about her, just why can't he stop, it's true that people believes that he has moved on but only he knows what he passes through every night, he just don't why, he clearly wants to forget her, to stop thinking about her but he just can't, his heart finds it difficult to let go.

Just then, Jack walked into the restaurant, he stood at the door and search around before finally seeing him sitting alone in the VIP section, he walked over to him to discover that he was in a daze, he called out his name and he didn't answer and then he followed his gaze and found out that he was staring at Alicia, a nice smile appeared on his lips and he touched Micah who immediately jumped back in his senses.

"Well well, looks like Alicia got you already" Jack teased him and Micah rolled his eyes before picking up the menu

"What took you so long?" He asked as Jack pull out a chair to sit

"I didn't take that long and moreover stop trying to distract me" he said and Micah looked at him from the menu and Jack chuckled

"I caught you in a daze staring at Alicia, looks her beauty has captivated your eyes" he said and Micah hissed "what, you going to deny it?"

"I wasn't staring at her" Micah said

"Really, what were you doing then?" Jack asked

"I was staring through her" Micah said and Jack frowned and then he sighed

"Thinking about her again?" He asked softly and Micah sighed and then slightly nod

"Hmm" Jack sighed

"I can't help it, I'm trying seriously" Micah said

"It won't help if you are alone Micah, you can't forget someone without someone" Jack said and Micah furrowed his eyebrows

"What do you mean?" He asked dropping the menu

"Listen" Jack said pulling closer "you can't forget her like this, you can only stop thinking about her if you have someone to divert your attention, someone that will be there, you know, acting like a girlfriend, disturbing you, asking for date, going out together, doing things together, before you know it, when you realized you are thinking, you will be surprised that you won't be thinking about her but the new one, that's how it happens, you haven't forgotten about her because you refuse to get closer to someone else, listen dude, love comes and love goes, love doesn't come once in a life time, but you have to let down your guard for it to come, socialize with women, go on a date, attend dinner parties or banquets with a girl, before you know it one of them will strike your interest and you will find out that you like spending them or that you are more relaxed with this particular one, you start making out with her and before you will know it, loves is there and you will only get to find out if you two have a problem or if you travel or she does and you have to stay maybe two days or four without seeing her, you will start missing her believe me and you will end up thinking about her then, that's the simple truth" Jack said and Micah was just staring at him

"That's a long speech" he said and Jack laughed "why do you like giving long speeches?" He asked

"Come on dude that is the simple truth" Jack said

"Mm hmm" Micah said calling for the waiter

"Tell me you will give it a try please?" Jack asked and Micah gave a faint smile

"I will think about it" he said and Jack groaned, just then the waiter arrived and then put down their order before he left again, subconsciously Micah glanced at Alicia's table and just then she smiled to someone, showing off perfect teeth and Micah couldn't help but finished his thought of yesterday, indeed her smile is mesmerizing, so much more than Zana's.
