Alia's pov

The sun is going down making the sky drenched in various colours. It is looking breath taking. I'm looking at the beautiful sky while being stack in the traffic. It's the middle of the week. But the traffic is just as heavy as the first working day of the week.

I'm tired. I have to study a lot tonight. Also we were given group assignment. I have to go to college early tomorrow. I've gotten along quite well with Sarah. And I think I'll be okay with Rina too. She seems more talkative than Sarah. I don't know. Maybe it'll be hard for me to be with her. She talks a lot. We also have to do an assignment together tomorrow. I don't know about that Mira girl but I think I'll have a hard time working with Neli.

My car started to move again. But seriously, I really don't feel good about the thought of working with her. We were in the same school before. We were in the same class for quite some time. So even though I never talked to her I know her a little. But I think she at least studied well later to get admitted in this college.

Well whatever. As long as things don't get annoying for me I won't bother myself to think about her. The car stopped in front of my home. I get out of the car and went straight to my room. I need to fresh up. I have come home late today.

(At night)

I'm having dinner with my family right now.

“I'll go to college early tomorrow”, I said to my mother.

“ Why? You have something to do at college early in the morning?”, asked mom without looking up.

“Today we were given group assignment. I also have to work on it”, I replied.

My parents looked up at me together and then looked at each other. What? What's wrong? “Okay then do your best”, dad said.

“I'll wake you up early”, mom said smiling at me.

What just happed? Okay whatever. I've to study so I finished my dinner first and went to my room to study.

(The next day morning)

I have just arrived at college. After going inside I saw Sarah and Rina sitting in a corner. I also went there seeing them. I can't see Neli or Mira anywhere. Maybe they haven't arrived yet.

Okay today I need to say good morning first to them.

“Good morning”, I said to them after getting close.

“Oh, hey good morning”, Rina said.

“Good morning, Alia. Come sit with us. Others haven't arrived yet”, said Sarah.

Being satisfied with myself I sit on a seat beside them.

Sarah called the others. Mira picked up and said that she is close. But Neli didn't pick up.

After sometime I saw Mira entering the classroom. At least she is not late. But where is Neli?

“Hello everyone. Good morning”, said Mira.

“Good morning”, said Sarah.

“Where is Neli?”, Mira asked.

“We also would like to know that”, said Rina.

Wow she is pissed. She can't be blamed. We are being delayed because of Neli. I'm also getting annoyed.

“I think we should start already”, Sarah said.

“What about Neli? Who is going to do do her portion of work?”, asked Rina.

“Let's just start first. We can keep a portion for Neli to work on her own”, Sarah replied.

“That’s a good idea”, said Mira.

“Okay then let's start”, Rina said.

Then we begin to do our assignment. After working on it for almost two hours I saw that it's almost time for our class to start.

“I think we should stop for today”, I said.

“Yeah, I also think so”, said Sarah.

We were about to get up after packing things up for today. That's when Rina said, “There she comes”.

Looking at the direction Rina pointed her eyes with, we saw Neli entering class. She is wearing heavy makeup. After she got close her thick fake eye leashes were noticeable. She really did her makeup forgetting about the assignment. Unbelievable! No matter what she says that much makeup needs time.

“Hey Neli, Why are you so late?”, Mira asked.

After noticing us Neli said “Oh hey guys. Good morning. How have you been? Well you see I forgot about coming early today. Have you finished the assignment?”

What? Has she lost her mind? Why would we do her work?

“What? What did you said?”, Rina asked her. I could recognise the anger in her voice.

“I asked if you have finished the assignment already?”, asked Neli as if it's the most ordinary question to ask.

“Why? Should we have finished the assignment already? The one also you have to work on?”, said Rina with anger in her voice. GOOD JOB.

Neli was taken aback by what Rina said. And after understanding a little she was about to say something but...

“Well Neli, actually we kept aside a portion of the assignment for you. We are already working on our portions”, Sarah interrupt her. I guess she don't want the situation to get any worse.

“As you can see our schedule is a little different from yours so, it's good to divide the work from the beginning”, she added.

That's right. She is right. If Neli is responsible for her portion then we won't have problems with marks even if she does any mistakes.

“Oh what? I don't even have the materials”, Neli said.

“I’m giving you the materials”, Sarah forwarded the materials towards her, “Here. And I've marked the part which you need to work on”.

Neli took the materials from her hand and went to an empty seat without saying anything. She looks displeased.

“Hah, the princess has come. She well go around doing whatever she wants and we will have to do the assignment for her! Just who does she thinks she is?”, Rina said. She is still angry.

Sarah just made her do her own work in a polite manner and Rina is still angry. For some reason the situation seems funny to me. I started laughing.

Hearing me laughing three of them looked at me.

“She has left her brain at home I guess”, I said while laughing. Suddenly I realized I am laughing with people other than my family. I'm acting like a normal persob. I looked at others. They are looking at me with surprise in their eyes.

Rina said, “You can laugh!”

What? Why won't I be able to laugh?. Was it that surprising?

“Come on Rina, don't be rude. Of course she can laugh”, said Sarah.

Before Rina could say anything Mira said, “No, no it's just that she don't even smile while talking. That's why we are surprised”.

Oh s**t, I must have made a bad impression on all of them.

Rina hurriedly said, “That's what I was saying. You don't even smile. But hey, you looked really beautiful when you were laughing”.

My eyes opened wide in shock. I looked at her. She is smiling at me. No, not just her. Both Sarah and Mira are also smiling at me. I don't know why but for some reason I felt warm. Is this what dad was talking about? This warm feeling?

I don't know. But it's not bad. Maybe it's worth the complicated feeling I felt while talking to them for the first time. I still am feeling lost and in dilemma. But I think at the end of the day, it will worth it.
