CHAPTER 36: THE TRUTH BENEATH THE ASHES For one suspended moment, nobody moved. Rain crashed violently against the broken warehouse windows while the tension inside the hallway tightened into something almost unbearable. Sebastian stood in front of Daniel Mercer instinctively, his body angled slightly toward Adrian Cross and the armed men behind him. Every survival instinct he possessed sharpened at once.
