"Your husband ruined me once, Mrs. Daniel. I will not let him ruin what is left of my family a second time."
The voice came from the doorway of the theater office, low and controlled, the kind of calm that scared me more than shouting ever could. I turned from the ledger I had been reviewing for the foundation and found a man I did not recognize standing there in a gray coat, his eyes the same pale blue as someone I had once feared.
