"I don't think I'll manage with all this s**t", Ray says.
"What are you on about?", I ask.
"We need a vacation and you need it too", May says.
"I am going on a vacation", I say and they look at me in confusion.
"What, when?", they ask.
"I'm going to Paris tomorrow, and you two are not going with me", I say standing up from the couch.
May pulls me back down.
"What are you saying cause I'm not getting your lingo right now missy", she says shaking her head.
"I'll tell you what she's saying. She thinks she's going to Paris without us. I think she's going to another mission but is lying about it", Ray says.
"Good thing you don't get paid for thinking then. And if you must know, I do have a mission, which so happens to be in Paris where I plan to have my vacation", I say.
"Then we're going to be your backup for the mission", Ray says with a shrug.
"Who's gonna deal with Britney if you guys leave with me?", I ask with a raised eyebrow.
"We wanted to kill her the moment you brought her here. You wanted to torture her so you have to deal with her", May says emphasising on the words we and you.
"Cause if you leave her with us, we'll just bury her alive",Ray adds and May nods in agreement.
"I'm meeting Damon in Paris", I say and they look at me in silence. They both look at me with questioning looks.
"Gift doesn't know and I don't need to tell him cause he's not my boyfriend", I say and they hum in realisation.
"Makes sense, so when are you going?", May asks.
"Not sure yet", I say.
"We'll take care of Britney for you. Just make sure you get Damon under you", Ray says.
"That's not the plan but sure", I say.
"But we may have another matter in Paris",May says.
"What did you do?",I ask with a frown.
"Well, I was gonna go there myself and later surprise you, but since you are going...",she trails off.
"She wanted to collaborate with Basil Aleksandar Adamos but he was not responding to her, so she was going to go to Paris to persuade him",Ray says.
"Don't you have anything against him?",I ask.
"He is simply just like you, a ghost",Ray says.
"However,I did find out that he has a flight from Rome to Paris, first class, on Friday night. So I suggest you pack your s**t and get your ass to Rome and leave a little impression. He booked a room at a Martinez hotel, so you can simply book a room closer to his and give him a sense of 'we have been bumping into each other' and get him to fall for you and my surprise for you",May says with a grin.
This girl can be a bit creative sometimes.
"I think my ass will be heading to Rome in a few hours then. Just send me all you have on this herb ghost guy of yours", I say as I take out my phone.
"Why are you going to Rome now?", Jack asks entering the room.
"I finally tracked down that Ace s**t and he happens to be in Rome right now. He seems to have lost his touch, or maybe I just developed new brain cells", I say.
Ace has been a pain in the ass. Sure, he did not do anything to me personally, but he helped the Russians somehow, and if you know me, then you know that although I'm a Russian mafia heiress, I hate them. Well, not all of them, but still.
Remember that time Damon was kidnapped and I helped. Then I found Jack in the same place, but also discovered some hacker named Ace who made me feel stupid when I could not see what he had planned and even suspected my stupid brother could be the Ace, but he was not because he knew nothing about coding because he's that stupid.
The point is, Ace has since been on my list. He only did that s**t that time, but he bruised my ego and I just have to have a little chat with him. He has not really been quiet.
"You never stopped looking for him?", Jack asks.
"If your ego was bruised like mine, you would understand, but you have not met a girl as smart as you to make you question if all your knowledge is a lie and that f*****g hacking machine did that to me and I will find him. But first I will make a few arrangements",I say as I begin typing on my phone.
"Send me Basil's travel info",I say to May, and she quickly does so.
I start scheduling my flights and booking the hotels.
Ontario to Rome on my own plane, which will be tomorrow morning.
I happen to have a house there, so I will not be at a hotel.
Rome to Paris, first class and a cabinet close to Basil.
I then book myself a room next to Basil's while making restaurant reservations similar to his.
"Hold on, What did Gift say?", Jack asks.
"He doesn't have to know everything I do, and we are not dating",I say with a shrug.
"In simpler words, she is not dickmatised",Ray says.
"How is she not head over heels with Gift?",Jack asks in confusion.
"Just because he was my first and we f**k a lot, does not mean we are getting married",I say.
"I just know that Ray and I warned Gift to not fall for her but he did not listen, so if she messes him up, I will just get popcorn and observe", May says.
"Enough about my s*x life. Can you choose the outfits to flatter Basil while I pack some weapons and gather all my info together",I say to May.
She nods and I leave them alone as I head to my secret room.
I quickly gather all my weapons, then go onto my work computer. The one Ace has been taunting me on.
"So when are you going to give up your search princess".
He has a death wish.
I really wonder if he does not have anything to do other than mock me.
Furiously, I respond to him.
"I see you decided to be in Rome so we need to have a chat son".
"Thought you were too scared, but I see you are getting bold enough to ask me out on a date. And do not call me 'son' because we both know I'm older than you for sure", he responds.
"I am not asking you out on a date, but then again, you are probably some nerd always hiding behind his screen, so I won't waste my time arguing with you. Meet me @ Ambrosia Rooftop Restaurant & Bar on Wednesday, 7pm. I'll be wearing a lilac purple dress. Don't be late".
With that, I switch off my laptop.
I have never been a fan of Mondays, but this Ace always made it his mission to make me hate them more.
