Jacob and I spent two hours in the temple. Garan lead us around, telling me all about the different deities that ruled the Reikii religion. My favorite, of course, was the lady. She was the protector of Arvendon and the giver of life. The Reikii religions saw her as the mother of all. She could also take a dragon form to protect her people. Her people were her family, and she would defend them with her life.
“Is she why you call me your little dragon?” I asked Jacob as our car pulled away from the temple.
He smiled. “I… never thought of it like that. But, sure. You want to protect our family as fiercely as she wanted to protect our people. So, I guess you are my version of the lady.”
