Chapter Five Two days had passed; a busy two days that put everyone at the police station on edge. The worried faces of my co-workers was telling. There was something rotten going on inside of the NOPD and everyone at my district office was looking for cover. At the time, the media was not asking too many questions about the two murder cases I was investigating. No one outside of the NOPD had correlated the brutal stabbing of a black drug addict with the grizzly execution of a white musician. The historic racial divide in New Orleans was doing us a favor.
