A rider was sent ahead to Duskfall to notify Liam of King Relius' impending arrival in two days, with information that the visit was of an urgent matter.
“Two days,” Liam muttered. “If he sends a rider ahead, it’s no small matter.”
Two days later, the horns of Duskfall rang again. Gates opened, banners lifted. King Relius rode in, tall and broad-shouldered, with his wife beside him and two young children following close. His cloak was green and heavy with travel dust.

“Welcome back to Duskfall, Relius,” Liam said as he stepped forward.
