Chapter 9

1660 Words
*Alina’s POV* As I walked into the castle, I was blown away by the beauty of the entire place. Everything was either made of white porcelain or marble. The staircase was breathtakingly wide. Towards the end of the entryway was a young girl, close to my age. She had short, straight brown hair that fell neatly on her shoulders. She gave me a soft smile and bowed slightly as she greeted me, “Hello Luna, my name is Irsa. I am one of the Omegas that serve the Alpha’s family.” “Hello, Irsa. It’s a pleasure to meet you,” I reply cordially. Her brown eyes seem to light up as she innocently stares at me. “Let me show you around,” she says as she begins to lead me around the house. The first floor has two dining areas. One is a huge ballroom area that’s used for formal gatherings. The other is more traditional and is used for daily meals with the leading members of the Dark Moon Pack and their families. “How many people live at this pack house besides the Alpha’s family and the Beta’s family,” I ask Irsa as she leads me to the huge industrial-size kitchen. “Well, the Alpha’s cousin Zafar, our Beta has yet to meet his mate, so altogether, there are only 6 people living at the castle so far,” she replied as we take a quick look at the chefs that are busy preparing dinner, “and this includes you,” she quickly adds. I nod and give her a small smile, as she continues the tour. If Alpha Malik, Beta Zafar, and I total 3 people, who are the other 3 people that Irsa included in this count? I keep my thoughts to myself, probably I will find out later at dinner. Right by the staircase is an elevator, that helps make it convenient to travel up the 5 floors. Right across from the elevator are three white doors that have exquisite gold door handles. The one in the middle is the door that leads to Alpha Malik’s office. The one on the left is a meeting room, and the one on the right leads to a full bathroom.  Suddenly, I feel drawn towards the second floor. As I turn towards the staircase, my eyes meet two bright blue ones that seem to stare directly through my soul. I suddenly feel as if I’m standing fully bare to this man. Why does he make me feel like this? “He’s our mate, that’s why,” Lux exclaims to me. I quickly look away from him and turn to walk upstairs. I can feel him staring at me. But, there is an energy pulling me towards it. I need to find out what it is. I make my way to the first door on the right, it’s cracked open, and I can see a white crib in a baby blue room. As I enter the room, I see a cute baby boy, who looks like he is about a year old trying to stand up in the crib. He has dark curly hair and sharp blue eyes. He starts giggling as soon as he sees me. “Mama,” he exclaims as he reaches out to me. Without hesitation, I take him into my arms and lift him out of the crib. He laughs as I playfully rub my nose on his. He placed both of his small hands on both of my cheeks as I placed my forehead on his. I can’t believe it. I feel as if this baby is mine. I sit in the rocking chair near his crib as I cuddle this adorable baby closer to me. *Armaan’s POV* I’ve been waiting at the foot of the stairs for Irsa to finish giving Alina a tour of the first floor. I am going to take her throughout the rest of the house. Just as I’m about to call Irsa, because I’m getting a bit impatient, I see her. Two intensely beautiful green orbs meet my eyes. She’s ridiculously beautiful when she blushes. I know she’s avoiding me. Wait, why is she going upstairs on her own? I quietly follow her upstairs, wondering what could possibly be distracting her from me. I see Alina enter my son’s room. “Mama,” Amir calls out to Alina. I watch their loving interactions from the door of the nursery. I can’t believe my eyes, they have bonded as if they are related by blood. “Our Luna, and our pup,” Nox exclaims proudly to me. I walk in, and I see that Amir is holding onto Alina’s necklace. The dove pendant is enchanted. I can sense it. I quickly refocus on my son’s face, he is staring up at Alina as she playfully coos at him in their own secret language. Amir seems to be enjoying it because after every sound Alina makes, he unleashes a fury of giggles.  Alina looks up at me, and she is about to get up, but I shake my head and give her a small smile as I kneel on the floor to be in level with Amir who is in her lap. “He’s a beautiful baby,” Alina says to me, I almost get lost in the fact that she’s actually talking to me and looking at me. “What’s his name,” her question stirs me awake, “Amir,” I reply as I take one of my son’s hands in my own. “Dada,” Amir exclaims as he seems to now notice me. Alina’s face changes into a quizzical expression, yet her aura remains calm. “He was left at the edge of the Dark Moon Pack territory, with a note that barred our totem, the tiger,” I tell her. She begins to understand now. Amir is my adopted son. I lost my entire family. Zafar was away in Armenia to receive training when the m******e occurred, so technically he is still my family. But I still felt alone, and Amir was alone, so I adopted him. As if understanding everything without explanation, Alina’s smiling face turns back to Amir as they resume their conversation. I begin to stand up, but lose balance as my shoe gets caught in the rug, in the midst of trying to regain my balance I end up touching Alina’s thigh. My hand feels as if sparks are flying from her body to me, she immediately tenses up and gets up with me. Her bright pink cheeks tell all. I know she can feel the same thing I’m feeling. The mate bond is like this. Sparks fly as mates come into connection with each other. Limitless love and attraction pull them together, they become stronger than ever and connected to each other when they complete the mating bond. I can tell Alina is extremely shy, I will have to take things slow with her.  “Sorry,” I say while smirking at her, in truth I’m not sorry at all. “Um, it’s okay,” she replies. “I’m sorry to interrupt you both,” Aunt Rina, the nanny, says as she bows slightly when addressing us. “I’m Amir’s nanny,” she says as she smiles at Alina, “and you must be our beautiful Luna,” she continues. “Yes, I’m Alina, nice to meet you,” Alina’s voice is as beautiful as the voice of the sweetest songbird. I could replay her voice in my head forever, and still not get tired. I just can’t wait to hear her say one word. My name. Their laughter interrupts my thoughts. Alina is really a light-hearted and easy-going person. I see how she interacts with everyone so gracefully. I am falling more and more in love with her by the minute. After a few minutes, we leave Amir and Aunt Rina in the nursery. When we both are left alone in the hallway, I can tell how nervous Alina is to be around me. She keeps looking at anything and everything, other than me. “Lena,” she looks up at me, shocked at me addressing her with a nickname, I suppose. “I hope it’s okay that I call you Lena,” I say as I walk closer to her, she is standing so near, yet she is so far away. “Yes, that’s fine,” she replies softly. I carefully move a stray hair from her face as I ask her, “why do you keep talking to me without addressing me?” I bend closer so that I can whisper in her ear, “trust me, I won’t bite - at least not yet.” I can feel her respond to my teasing, she tries to move away but I just keep moving closer for every step she takes backward. We keep this up until her back is up against a wall, and she has nowhere else to go. The elevator dings and she gets an excuse. “Um, is Irsa going to take me through the rest of the castle,” she asks me nervously while staring at the open elevator. I gently grab her wrist while I lead her towards the open elevator, “No, I am going to take through the rest of the house.” *Alina’s POV* Wait, what? I’m going to be stuck with him alone in an elevator. I free my hand from his grip, which was admittedly easy since he wasn’t holding my hand tightly. “Okay,” I reply. Just as the elevator door closes, he turns to face me and crosses his arms by his chest while smirking at me. “Okay, what?” he asks me. What does he want me to do? Call him Alpha? I can tell his laid back attitude is just a front to hide how much of an arrogant ass he really is. “Okay, Alpha Malik,” I replied angrily. The elevator door opens right at that moment, and I walk out ahead of him, but not before I see amusement plastered all over his stupid smirking face. It’s as if every time I get angry he finds it to be the most hilarious thing in the world.
