Chapter 2:The Self Absorbed dude

702 Words
The morning sun crept through the half-closed blinds, painting pale stripes across the bedroom floor. The first thing Liliana woke up to was the gentle voice of his husband. “Yes, please… Oh, please give me a chance to prove you wrong…………I promise you won't regret it." He is probably trying to convince the same person who made him feel worthless. Liliana thought. Liliana didn't open her eyes…. oh no, she couldn't. She felt so weak that her eyes refused to open, so she fell asleep again. The next time, she woke up to her husband’s soothing voice. “Hey, honey ,I hate to ruin your sleep, but it's time to wake up”. He said, as if everything was fine between them, as if he just hadn't made his wife go through her worst nightmare. Liliana opened her eyes slowly… and just stared blankly. “ Honey, yesterday, that dimwit that I was supposed to have a contract with told me he was withdrawing because he didn't have faith in me anymore”. He explained, but Liliana knew he wasn't sorry, oh, he wasn't, because this is what he always does, always the same routine. “Thank you, I enjoyed the s*x. You enjoyed too, right?” Liliana just looked at him emotionless and turned back to look anywhere else. “Don't let me ask twice, He said with a sly smile that was plastered across his face, as if he was telling her that if she didn't answer, she was going to go through another nightmare. Liliana gently smiled, a smile that didn't match her eyes completely. “ Y….Yes, I did. Nick smiled, pleased with the answer. He kissed her forehead. “ Well, I made breakfast. I wanted you to get enough rest. “ Liliana didn’t reply. “ OH… also, here… get yourself some cute high-neck clothes. Your neck looks… disgusting. He said, making a disgusted look while handing her a black card. Liliana just nodded. They headed downstairs and had breakfast. Nick made sure to wrap Liliana’s neck with a scarf before they headed out. After all, the children must not find out. During breakfast, George, the most thoughtful son, noticed his mother’s shift in mood. He asked her, but she just brushed it off, saying she had a headache. Right after breakfast, Nick got into his car and drove to work. Liliana helped the maids tidy up and headed out to shop. These were the only chances she got to go shopping alone. The shop assistant was as sweet as always. Riches Boutiques was one of the biggest boutiques in London, and it was where the most famous and great people went to shop for clothes. Liliana was addressing the sales assistant about what she wanted when suddenly, a guy crossed her. “Oops, pardon me, but I'm in haste,” he said to the shop’s assistant. Oh God, he smelled like mint mixed with the smell of rain. C’mon, Lili, he just crossed you, Liliana scolded herself. “Hello! Did you not see me, or are you blind?” she asked, clearly pissed. But he just kept on speaking to the shop assistant as if he hadn't heard her just now. “ Hey! " I'm talking to you, i***t,” she said while tapping him. “Whoa, ma'am, please, language.” He made an annoying face, which made Liliana wanna smack him. But I'm gonna admit, he is really hot….. Whoaa really, really, really hot. She thought to herself again. “ Haha, I see what's going on. You are one of those dudes.” “Well, if you are talking about the most handsome and amazing dudes, then yeah, you're right." Liliana scoffed,” No, I'm talking about those self-absorbed, annoying dudes who don't take anything seriously. “Maybe," he fired back. Liliana was so pissed, and it was clear that he enjoyed it. “Wow, ok, but you came to meet me here, so excuse me. " She crossed him and gained the attention of the sales assistant again. She followed the woman to the women’s section to get some high-neck clothes. All these while, the self-absorbed guy kept his eyes on her, clearly amused.
