Desperate plan

1406 Words
It was extremely nerve-racking for Emilia in the days that followed the change of Leonard. The mansion which was full of love, of togetherness, and of boisterous laughter slowly was transforming into a dead and suffocating structure. Even after some time, the silhouette of Leonard continued to haunt her like a ghost, always there but for too short to relieve the never-ending heaviness on her heart. Lately, intimate dinners became a distant practice. They will no longer light the stove in a place which was friendly and where a burden of companionable meal preparation became a gentle lift. Emilia’s energy drowned as she hovered at a dinner table quite too much on her own. she advanced in small, quick, sideways steps – moving as quietly as possible to avoid breaking this unbearable shroud of silence surrounding them. That particular week was supposed to be full of cuddling on the sofa and sharing love for movies: Such hours swiftly became hours spent in isolation involving neither of them. The television stayed turned off, and the cushions stagnated unmoved. Emilia would sit in the semi-darkened living room and expect him to come back any minute through the door she would keep on waiting for and where she would invite him to join her like he did before. But he did not. As for Leonard and his integrity, the irony was that when retracing the steps of the ‘victim,’ he would go to the bedroom. They exchanged glances in the corridor, walking by. Leonard had mastered the art of ducking any confrontation that seemed palpable. He was the clever or rather clever in the systematic way he made himself absent. If Emilia was in the kitchen, apaying was in his study. If she was round the sitting room, he would head to the bedroom. They met on the stairs on one occasion, her head dipping and his eyes turning fully. He simply couldn’t look into her eyes because he feared that once he did, the make-believe peace they had unwittingly created would be in agony. It was the confines which were the worst, under the same roof but actually light years apart. For the nutritionist emilia, she felt that she would simply be locked in a loony bin for weeks on end, the weariness from the strain really starting to creep in. There was nowhere to escape him, constantly coming up empty because he was right there. What he had broken had become a constant. They had longed for him without moving an inch. Something from within even prompted her to stretch forth her arms to him for a hug to bring however little all that distance that now threatened to swallow. Then, each time, every single time, she summoned the strength to speak in his direction he would in some way rear end her and run away only to report her scars again broken that daunted her chase of hope Oh God, how she had longed for him. The way his eyes would light up when he was smiling at her. She always felt comforted by his presence. Makes her feel cared for But now. He was gone, okay, not physically, but he's there at the same while not really there. This fat tension has made his walls more impenetrable. Thinking about walls, she couldn't help but be reminded of their intimacy. The way he drove her soul out of his body with pleasure. ' Nope. Not thinking about that now'. She reprimanded her brain. It's difficult not to though. The house has become some sort of a fancy prison and each room reminded her of that fateful passion. At night, Emiliawouldl lay in bed and look at the ceiling with a heavy heart as she felt his absence. She could hear his footsteps and would hope against all the odds that he would come, open the door and make his way to her, take her in his arms and tell her everything was going to be o.k. Thee footsteps never happened, and Emilia was alone with her heartbreak wondering what went wrong on both ends. The days turned into weeks, and Emilia's contact with Leonard from there onwards was virtually non-existent. A man who had tenderly held her was now a stranger; his coldness reminded her every day of what lay between them. Each moment that went by, Emilia felt her heart grow heavier and heavier at the thought of him not being there. But there, as much as she ached, she found herself feeling something else too: an intense and fathomless fear. She had a delicious taste of Leonard finally being near, of finally being looked at by him with the same hunger she felt for so long. But she could not bear the idea of losing him, of letting this opportunity slip through her hands. What if this time there was no second chance at getting him? What if none were to come after it was gone? The fear of what she stood to lose started to outweigh his rejection pain For so long she had waited, unable to express what she felt and now that she has experienced the taste of him she wanted him more and just the thought of never having that again terrified her immensely. She had to do something—anything—to convince him they were meant to be. Real, not some convenient little fancy he could shrug off. But how? It was as though Leonard had erected barriers, barriers that appeared insurmountable, and every time she tried to reach him it did nothing but drive a wedge between. But desperation was creeping in now, and it fed off her fear and her yearning. But if she didn't do something now, she could miss him forever. She couldn’t let that happen. She wouldn’t let that happen. She needed a plan. A really perfect one. Her mind juggled different tactics on how to get through leornad stubbornnes. Whyy couldn't he see that they were meant to be? Like a movie their times together replayed over and over again in her head. There was one time when she was just bored and staring at the ceiling an idea formed, The idea required all the ounces of courage since it was risky but could bring leornad back to her that is if, only if it work. She would have to be careful patient and subtle, what if the reason he can't be with her is because the connection isn't so strong yet maybe she could make him see that he couldn't resist her. Yes, making him realise just what he's missing isn't so bad. Now he would realise that pushing her away was a grave mistake. Sheclearlyy knew that leornads a man who was driven by his morals, duty sense, and by the beliefs in doing what was right. More so she knew that behind all that, there was a man full of wants and desire and if he had given in to those wants once before then its a matter of time before he falls apart completely,Again. She just has to remind him of what they shared. Sparks of passion that burned their resolves. With a newfound determination she swore to make him see that what they had want just somme to walk away from. Shen promised herself to do whatever it takes to make him release any f*cking sh*t holding him back. The chance is given to her she'd be stupid if she let it waste. So steps were plotted and plans were weaved carefully. She began to dress with more intention, choosing outfits that she knew would catch his eye, that would remind him of the woman he had once held close. She would linger in the places where he was most likely to be, giving him small, subtle reminders of her presence. But she also knew that this wouldn’t be enough. She needed something more—a way to force Leonard to confront his feelings, to make him see that he couldn’t just shut her out. She would wait for the right moment, and when it came, she would be ready. Leonard may have distanced himself, but Emilia wasn’t going to give up on them. Not without a fight. And if she could reignite the passion that had once burned so brightly between them, she was certain that Leonard would realise that walking away was not an option.
