Nico's POV:
I sat back on the sofa, trying to rest my head, but of course, Trista wouldn’t let me.
Ever since I saved her from being sold off to a motel when she was fourteen, she had dedicated ten years of her life to me. We had been through so much over the years. She was one of my most trusted associates. I trusted her enough to leave my biggest hotel and secret club in her hands and let her run it.
But that was all she would ever be to me. An associate. Even though I knew her biggest dream was to be by my side as my woman, I had never been able to develop those kinds of feelings for her. Still, I let her do whatever she wanted with me as compensation for her unrequited love, and I enjoy it too. She gives the best head, so why not?
“Why did you do that? That’s so unlike you,” she asked as she settled onto the sofa beside me.
“Do what?” I ask, not even trying to mask the irritation in my voice.
“Get involved. I could have cleared the issue.”
“It was taking too long.”
“Is it because of her?”
“Why would you even think it’s because of her?” I turned to look at her. “You know how much I hate it when people disobey me. He disobeyed me twice. Of course I had to teach him a lesson.”
“Alright then. She can start work tomorrow night. And speaking of that, I want my payment now.” She ran her hands over my exposed chest, making me groan lightly. She pressed a kiss near my ear before moving her hands lower. “You’re yet to tell me about the mission you’re sending her on,” she whispered in my ear.
“It’s still a secret for now”
“Hmm” She says before sinking to her knees in front of me and unbuckled my belt. As soon as my pants were out of the way, she covered my d**k with her mouth. I closed my eyes to relish the feeling. She started sucking me faster until my orgasm crashed through me. I groaned deeply and light pants followed. I got her off of me and got the tissue to clean the mess we made.
“I’ll see you tomorrow,” I said as I buckled my pants and left the room.
Davinci and Sophie were having a conversation outside. They were so engrossed in it that they didn’t even notice me. I cleared my throat loudly to get their attention, and it worked. They quickly turned around.
“Let’s go home,” I said.

Sophie’s POV:
It was already 1 a.m when we got back home. It was only when Davinci left for the house at the back that I realized it was just Nico and I staying in the main house. We didn’t say anything to each other. I walked silently behind him into the house and went straight to my room, making sure to lock the door this time.
I took another warm shower to wash away the thoughts of the man who had touched me at the club today. I settled into bed, and my conversation with Davinci randomly came to mind. He was definitely much nicer than Nico, and I couldn’t be more grateful that I finally had someone to talk to. It was only my first day here, and it was already so hectic.
I was hungry, but hesitant to go downstairs to find something to eat. I kept tossing around on my bed until I couldn’t take it anymore. I opened the door quietly to reduce the noise and tiptoed downstairs to the kitchen. Thankfully, there was a bowl of pasta in the fridge and I took it out to the microwave before settling down to eat.
When I was done, I cleaned everything and was washing the utensils I had used when I heard footsteps behind me. I looked back, and the sight gave me the shock of my life. It was Nico and he is pointing a gun at me. The fork in my hand slipped, and I quickly raised both my arms in the air.
“Sophie?” That was the first time he had called my name since we met. He said it with his thick Italian accent, just like the way I used to be called at the orphanage. I couldn’t believe how much I had missed hearing it.
“What are you doing here?” he asked as he lowered his gun and turned on the light.
“Erm, I was—”
I was going to explain. I knew exactly what I wanted to say, but the sight of him completely shirtless, with his well-defined abs and loose pajama pants sitting low on his waist, made me lose my words. And it only got worse when he started walking toward me.
My heart was beating so fast, and my body suddenly felt hot. I couldn’t even explain why.
He cupped my face in his palm and brushed his thumb over my lips. “You’re a messy eater, I see,” he said.
My cheeks flushed with embarrassment, but I was frozen in place, staring into his deep, cold eyes.
“The training for your mission starts tomorrow. I don’t like slip-ups or excuses.” He said and turned around to leave.
I know I shouldn’t push my luck by asking him what my mission is, but I asked anyway. “Can I know what my mission is?”
He stopped without turning around. I know he hates questions, and I might get punished. “I’ll tell you your mission when you’re done with your training.”
