Elizabeth P.O.V
“Don’t look at me that why Prue. I don’t look that bad?” I said as I looked at myself. Some of my wounds are already healing. “No, not that bad. Just another day at the office.” “Yes, and I would love a bath right about now.” “Your bath is ready Miss.” Saruman said as he came out of the bathroom. “Thank you...” I said as I looked at Prue, a little confused. I didn’t even see him come in.
“Go, Darling, when you are done there, there will be food waiting.” I just smiled at her and got myself a kiss from Eric and went into the bathroom. As I got into the bath, I had to clench my jaw as the water touched my wounds, but after a minute or two, I felt my muscles relax with the warm water and I almost drifted off to sleep. Until the smell of food came from the other side of the door and my stomach letting me know we haven’t eaten all day. So I hurried up and finished with the bath.
“Hey, Love, did you enjoy your bath?” Eric asked as he came in front of me, leaving little kisses all over my face. “Yes, thank you.” I said as I giggled and moved a little to the side, where I saw my little wolf, but she was not a wolf anymore. She looked at me and her eyes got all watery as she ran to me and we crashed to the floor as I held her tight to me. Everyone started laughing, and I pushed her gently away to see if she wasn’t hurt.
“You look much better, Little wolf.” “I am and my Beta turned me back. See I’m me again.” “I see, wait... your Beta...?” I looked over at Jarred that sat there pushing his food around in his plate. “Come, Love, let’s eat, then we will talk.” So I got up not liking the atmosphere so much anymore, but I ate and it felt so good.
“Okay, done... can someone please fill me in on what is happening right now or...” “I’m sorry Elizabeth, it’s just... they took her... Your Hunters took here and put her in that... that place with people that could have killed her!” Jarred screamed out of anger and Eric jumped up, growling a warning to him.
“Its fine Eric, calm down. Jarred, I am so-so sorry. If they were my Hunters, they would have been dead by now, taking an innocent like they did.” “I’m sorry I know it is not you, it just...” “I know…” There was a moment of silence as everyone just tried to calm down. “So she is from your pack?” “Yes, she is.” Jarred said as he looked at Amy and smiled as she smiled back. “She is our Gamma’s child and as soon as we came back I phoned the Alpha letting him know that we have her and that she will be returned to the pack safely. But you need to know this could have gone very wrong real fast. Achilles was about to launch an attach on the council to find out where Amy was.”
“An attach against the council?” “That was the only way to get revenge for our Amy going missing.” “But he didn’t know that she was here?” “No, but he would have found out where she was.” “A war... that would...” “Don’t worry, I told him what we were busy with and he said that he would leave it up to us then. O... and he said thank you and that the pack owes you one.”
“Darling, it’s time for bed.” “I can sleep now, there is…” “You need to heal.” Prue said and gave me the look. “Yes, mom...” I said as I got up, taking in a sharp breath as the pain vibrates through my body. “I wish I could heal you, but you know...” “Don’t fuss, I would be just fine.” I said as I turned to go to the bedroom and Saruman appeared in front of me and all I remember was he said he will take care of it and then I felt his fingers against my forehead and then darkness... endless darkness.
What the hell. Where am I... wait... I know this house. I look around and I saw the wooden structure. It was the house where I did my last case as a rookie before I made detective. “Elizabeth.” I looked up and saw the two girls that were murdered here. They were just standing there with blood coming from all the cuts on their bodies. I didn’t know what to do as I stood there frozen in place.
“Elizabeth, why did you leave us here? Why did you just walk over us and didn’t take us with you? You just left us!” “I... I didn’t know. I didn’t know you were under the floor. How...” “You knew Elizabeth, you felt it.” “I don’t know what I felt. I didn’t know that... what that feeling was. If I could, I would do it all over again, but I can’t. I’m sorry... I’m sorry.” I said as I fell to my knees, crying for their loss. The pain I felt was so real these nightmares have hunted me for years now. “I wish...”
“It doesn’t matter anymore. We are gone and you need to see.” Okay, now that is giving me a brain spin. “I need to see what?” “Think, Elizabeth, think about what happened the day you found us. How did we look?” Next moment I looked down and there they were on the tables as if their bodies were being examined. “You had cuts all over and some of your organs were removed, but I know that because we arrested her for being a cannibal. She was a cannibal.”
“Are you sure that is all she was?” Okay, now I’m seriously going crazy. “What do you mean? Just tell me what you want me to know.” “We can’t… You need to see for yourself.” Okay, focus Elizabeth. I remember walking into the kitchen to arrest her. I know I saw her eating something, and I was actually gagging because of the smell. It smell was like rotten chicken. I even get nauseous just thinking about it. Our forensic team found out that it was human flesh she consumed and so she was given the death penalty.
“You are looking at the obvious, Elizabeth. Look closer at the surroundings.” “What... why... urge... okay. There is a stove, a fridge, spice ra... Wait, what kind of spices are these... This is animal dried up parts and... No... she was a Witch, but...” “Now you see, now you know.” “Okay, I see she was a Witch, but...” Then I was surrounded by darkness. I couldn’t see anything before me. It was cold and uncomfortable. Where am I? What is this? Why is this happening to me?
What the hell did Saruman do to me? I’m so going to kick his ass… She was a Witch that consumed people... dark magic. Now I’m worried did she really die... Or did she use magic to look like she was dead? Was this a setup? But why? They didn’t know who I was... or did they? A flash back came of me standing in front of the Counsel and Robin telling Nicolas that he knows it’s me and that they kept tabs on me. Captain... that is why I moved up on the ranks so quickly and if they knew, then creatures of the night also felt it... like I feel when they are near. And here I thought it was because I was good at my job. Surprise-Surprise...
“You were good at you job Elizabeth. You were the best at it.” I looked up and saw one of the most beautiful woman I have ever seen, but I could not save her. She stood there with her throat cut. “What are you talking about? I couldn’t save you.” “But you saved my daughter from a horrible life. If you did not stop and came in, he would have taken her.” “I remember I was driving past your house and I felt like I wanted to kill someone. Darkness in me, pushing me. I knew something was wrong and then I heard the screams.”
“And because of you not hesitating and just barging in, that saved my little girl.” “We never caught him. He literally just disappeared.” “I know, but he is dead.” “What?” “He was killed by Hunters... he was a Dragon, Elizabeth.” “Well that explains the feeling, but why are you telling me this?” “You need to follow the path...” “What path...?” Then it was all dark again.
“Saruman, what the hell is going on!” No answer came back. I’m tired of these games. What path? Why do I have to know this? Where is this leading me? Okay Elizabeth, follow the path... we have a Witch, Dragon and a girl who was saved. Nope, I do not know what I’m looking at. I know I did not kill everyone that I caught, but if I think about it, I have killed those I had that strong Hunter feeling about. Maybe those cases will lead me on this so-called path I needed to follow. “I’m waiting... can anybody hear me?”
I ended up in a tunnel. It had strange graffitied on it, or it was strange until I found out about this world. It was dark and wet and this feeling of death came over me as the hairs on my neck stood up. This was where I found a guy. He was young, probably 21 years of age. He had no cut marks, no blood, but he was dead and pale. I remember bending down to have a better look at the guy. Then someone came from behind, trying to grab me by the neck. I remember hitting him and turning, shooting him three times, but nothing happened. Just a view steps from the body was a sward. I remember not even thinking about it, just picking it up and actually cutting the guy’s head off and even in the autopsy, it showed that there were no bullet wounds, but I know, I know I shot him.
In an instant, the man on the floor sat up. He scared the living hell out of me. “It was a Vampire Elizabeth.” “Wow... You nearly gave me a heart attach. What is this all about? You are now the third memory I had... that is actually talking to me.” “I’m not sure, but I know you need to stop focusing on the cases and start looking at the surroundings.” “What surro...” and it was all black again. “Seriously!!!”
Okay, the cases surroundings. I closed my eyes, trying to play back all the times I felt like really killing the person responsible for the death of another. “What do I need to see?” I remember there were always dark ally ways and... “No it can’t be, can it?” I saw the Witch from the first memory and my... my Grandfather... I knew they never found his body, but everyone thinks he is dead and what is he doing at my crime scenes. Was this a setup taking me into this life? “No! He killed my parents.” I know it, I just know it.
After that, I drifted into a dreamless sleep. I guess that was what I was supposed to see, what I was supposed to find out. My Grandfather is alive and the reason for the deaths of my parents...
My head was pounding the next morning as I woke up, my eyes a little fuzzy, and I was tired to the bone. I just wanted to turn around and sleep more, but the knock on my door told me I had to get up. “Miss Elizabeth, it’s time to get up. The council will be ready to see you within the hour.” Saruman said behind the door. I just wanted to tell him to screw the council, but I have imported things to discuss with them. “I will be out in a minute. Thank you.”
As I did my morning routine, I saw that at least all wounds were healed and bruises were gone. At least I don’t have to struggle with that anymore, but as I stepped out of my room, no one was there, only my plate of food. “Strange, I wonder where everybody is.” I did not like this one bit.
“Well, will you look at that? She finally graced us with her presence.” The man sitting on the right said. “That is enough, Peter.” Nicolas said. “Elizabeth, why are you not properly dressed?” Robin asked, and I looked at her with anger in my eyes. “Why did I wake up in a dungeon? Why didn’t you give me the time to train and why was there a child!?”
“Have some respect when you speak to us!” Peter said as he stood up. “I will show you respect the day you earned it!” I screamed back. “Everybody calm down!” Nicolas intervened. “Peter, take a seat and Elizabeth, I will explain everything. We had a meeting the night before and some of us felt that even if you did not grow up in this life, you still had the ability’s. None of them who came before you had the change to ready themselves, so why should we break tradition now?” “Where is my family?” “They are safe. What we are discussing now has nothing to do with them.”
I looked at Nicolas and my blood was boiling inside and to that reaction my new found mist came out, enfolding it around me and I could see the surprise in their eyes. “Something wrong?” I asked. “What... is that?” Nicolas asked as he pointed at me.
“O this, you know about it. Robin also has a light floating by her feet.” “A light, yes, and it’s by her feet, not her whole body and yours is greyish.” Nicolas said. “Yes, well, I’m the best of both worlds.” I said as I looked at the surrounding mist, playing a little with it. “The ghost of the past taught me how to do it.” “What do you mean, the ghost of the past?” Lilith ask that was sitting on the left. “Well, you know Orion and Adeline, don’t you?” “You are lying.” She accused me and the next moment all of them jumped out of their seats with their eyes as big as they can get.
As I looked beside me, I see Orion on my left and Adeline on my right. I stood there looking at the council with a smile on my face until I see a third appearing in front of me. “Rafael...” Nicolas said as the council members lowered their heads. Rafael just stood there looking at everyone with discuss in his eyes. “I build this place not for you to live your lives in luxury, but for a haven for all. Now I have been called up from my resting to come to a place like this. To see my hard work, my legacy, get misused!”
“Rafael, you don’t understand...” “Quiet! You will listen to me now. Saruman, bring the people in here that were accompanying Elizabeth.” Saruman nodded and with a snap of his fingers Prue, Eric, Jarred and my little wolf appeared in front of us. But they were all beaten up and chained like animals. I ran over to them, trying to help them. “Who did this to them?” I asked, looking at the council. “They were trying to break the wolf loose. That should have been killed by you.” Nicolas said. “She is a child. She did nothing wrong!”
“Nicolas... quiet. You were being played. She is innocent, her parents are innocent. Elizabeth did the right thing by saving her life.” Everyone looked over at Peter and he was furies. “O please, are you guys really going to listen to some old ghost? That may not even be real. It’s probably a magic trick.” The council, looking back and forth between us, and I can see the confusion on their faces. In all honesty, I was also at a loss about this.
“Now you listen to me carefully, young man. This is no trick. Tell the council the truth.” “Or What?” “Saruman if you’d like.” I looked over at Saruman and he just nodded his head and then he snapped his fingers again and two men appeared in front of us with their hands bound. “Talk!” Rafael said, and the guys explained about the attach on the Pack and how Peter gave them the command to take a high-ranking wolf’s daughter. Jarred growl fiercely and was trying to get to Peter, but Saruman made a barrier between them.
“Now, Peter, it is your turn.” As we all turned our attention to him, he was already halfway to the door, trying to sneak away. Rafael appeared before him and a black smoke came from him. The next second, Peter was on the ground and not breathing. “Now we are done with that.” Rafael said as he walked back to us, acting like he didn’t just kill a man... Well, he kind of deserves it.
“For the rest of you, I would suggest that you get everything ready and get the ceremonies started. Give Elizabeth her rightful seat.” He said and turned to me, whispering in my ear. “You still need to be careful. Not all can be trusted.” Then they were gone, and it was as if we were holding our breaths the whole time. We could finally breathe normally again. I sat there next to Eric, who was now loose and healed, and I couldn’t get my brain to process what had just happened. It was so fast and unexpected.
“Elizabeth, we apologize for everything that happen and for all that we did wrong from you arrived here. Robin begin the preparations. Tomorrow knight will be the ceremonies. Prue, will you please see to it that Jarred and Amy get home safely and Saruman please put these to in our deepest and darkest dungeon and Peter, well, you can drop him anywhere. He is not one of us and will not have a burial.” Nicolas said and left.
As soon as they were out of the room, I asked Saruman if he could take Peter to his family and try to explain to them, they would probably want a funeral for him. He just nodded and disappeared as my little wolf came to say goodbye and disappeared as well.
“You look like you need rest Beautiful.” “I can do with rest...” is all I said as we went back to my room.
