As the car hit the open road, the group's laughter and chatter filled the air, accompanied by the upbeat tunes playing on the stereo. Avni, despite her initial reservations, found herself getting swept up in the infectious energy of the group. She couldn't help but smile as Saurabh and Sushant engaged in a hilarious rendition of a popular song, complete with exaggerated dance moves and silly lyrics. As the night wore on, Avni began to feel a sense of comfort and belonging that she hadn't experienced in a long time. The group's warmth and inclusiveness enveloped her, making her feel like she was part of something special. For the moment, she was able to forget the pain and hurt that had been weighing her down. Aayush, sensing that Avni was starting to relax, couldn't help but feel a sense of happiness and relief. He had been observing her throughout the journey, making sure that she was okay and comfortable with the group. He knew that she had never traveled with anyone before, and he was determined to make this trip an unforgettable experience for her. As the car cruised down the highway, the night lights twinkling like diamonds in the distance, Avni felt a sense of peace wash over her. She rolled down the window, letting the cool night air rush in and fill her lungs. The sound of the wind rushing past, combined with the soft hum of the engine, was like music to her ears. For the first time in a long time, Avni felt like she was exactly where she was meant to be. The group's camaraderie, the soothing sounds of the night, and Aayush's gentle smile all combined to create a sense of tranquility that she had been craving for so long. As she gazed out into the night, Avni felt her heart begin to heal, and a sense of hope and joy that she thought had been lost forever began to stir within her. The journey was a tranquil one, with the group taking breaks and shuffling seats to ensure everyone got a chance to rest and enjoy the scenic views. Payal and Avni sat together, chatting and laughing, while Aayush and Sushant took turns driving, their eyes fixed on the winding road ahead. One by one, each member of the group got a chance to sit in the front seat, taking in the breathtaking views of the landscape. As the night wore on, the group's eyelids began to droop, and one by one, they drifted off to sleep. Aayush and Sushant, however, remained awake, their eyes fixed on the road ahead. They pulled over at a quaint tea shop, nestled in the heart of a bustling highway town. The neon lights of the shop cast a warm glow, illuminating the group's weary faces. Sushant, who had been driving for hours, was feeling the effects of fatigue. "Aayush, will you drive the car?" he asked, his voice laced with exhaustion. Aayush nodded, taking the keys from Sushant. "Okay, you take rest," he said, smiling reassuringly as he ordered a round of steaming hot tea. Payal, Saurabh, and Rahul were fast asleep, but Avni was wide awake, her eyes fixed on the tea shop's neon lights. Sushant came over to her, his eyes bleary with sleep. "Avni, will you sit in the front seat? I'm a little tired," he asked, his voice barely above a whisper. Avni nodded, smiling softly. "Yeah, sure," she said, getting out of the car to let Sushant take her seat. As she walked over to Aayush, who was standing outside the car, she wrapped her dupatta around her shoulders, protecting herself from the chilly night air. "You're going to drive now?" she asked, her eyes sparkling with curiosity. Aayush nodded, handing her a steaming cup of tea. "Yeah, Sushant is a little tired, so I'll continue," he said, his eyes crinkling at the corners as he smiled. Avni took a sip of the tea, feeling the warmth spread through her body. As she finished the cup, Aayush and Avni got back into the car, ready to continue their journey. The engine roared to life, and the car pulled back onto the highway, the night lights blurring together as they sped into the darkness. Avni's eyes sparkled with genuine admiration as she gazed at Aayush. "You are really lucky to have them as your friends," she said, her voice filled with sincerity. Aayush's face lit up with a warm smile, his eyes crinkling at the corners. "Yes," he said, his voice filled with gratitude. "I know I am." Avni's gaze turned thoughtful, her eyes clouding over with a hint of wistfulness. "You all are friends from school, that's why your bond is strong," she said, her voice tinged with a hint of longing. Aayush nodded, his smile unwavering. "Yeah, we always support each other," he said, his voice filled with conviction. Avni's smile faltered for a moment, and she looked away, her eyes gazing out into the darkness. "Yes, I have seen," she said, her voice barely above a whisper. Aayush's eyes narrowed, his gaze piercing as he turned to Avni. "Your friends would be the same as them?" he asked, his voice filled with curiosity. Avni's face contorted in a mixture of sadness and forced humor. "Yeah, sometime," she said, her voice laced with a hint of sarcasm. She let out a soft laugh, a hint of melancholy lingering in her eyes. Avni's voice took on a reflective tone as she continued, a hint of nostalgia creeping into her words. "But you know," she said, a small, wistful smile playing on her lips. "I never had friends in school. I mean, in every grade, my best friend would change. I think I used to think they were my best friends, but they weren't." Avni's laughter was a low, throaty sound, tinged with a hint of irony. She laughed now, sometimes, at the things that had happened in her past, a way of acknowledging the pain and moving forward. Her eyes sparkled with amusement, a hint of self-deprecation in her gaze. "But I have a cousin sister, Ridhima," Avni said, her voice filled with warmth and affection. "She is my best friend, even though she is younger than me." Avni's face lit up and she turned to Aayush with a radiant smile, her eyes shining with love and appreciation for her cousin. Aayush's smile mirrored Avni's, his eyes crinkling at the corners as he asked, "Do you both meet?" His tone was understandable, curiosity getting the better of him. Avni's face lit up with a warm smile as she replied, "Yeah, sometime she comes over my place. She lives in my native place, so she doesn't get much time, but still, she tries to come for me." Her voice was filled with affection and gratitude for her cousin's efforts. "We talk every weekend on a landline call," she added, a hint of nostalgia in her tone. "Even she knows you; I always tell her that I've got a really gentleman friend," Avni said, her face lighting up with amusement. Aayush chuckled, his eyes sparkling with delight. "Call her over sometime; we'll meet her and have fun," he suggested, his tone filled with enthusiasm. Avni's smile faltered for a moment before she replied, "Yeah, na, I have told her so many times, but she didn't get time." Her voice was tinged with a hint of disappointment. Aayush's eyes narrowed, his gaze piercing as he asked, "Then why don't you go over her place? Give her a surprise?" His tone was filled with excitement, his eyes sparkling with anticipation. Avni's smile came crashing down, and she looked out of the window, her gaze distant. "I can't," she said, her voice barely above a whisper. Aayush's eyes filled with concern, his expression softening as he asked, "Why not?" Avni turned back to Aayush, a forced smile plastered on her face. "I mean, I have so much work in the office, so I don't get time," she said, her voice laced with a hint of desperation. Her eyes darted away, avoiding Aayush's gaze, as if she was hiding something. Avni's voice was tinged with a mix of emotions as she shared the news about her cousin. "But she is going to marry now," she said, a hint of wistfulness in her tone. Aayush's eyes narrowed, his gaze piercing as he asked, "But she is younger than you?" His question was laced with a hint of curiosity, but also a subtle attempt to avoid broaching the topic of Avni's own marital status. Avni's smile was radiant as she replied, "Yeah, but she got her partner, so she is going to marry him, and I am happy for her so much." Her voice was filled with genuine joy and affection for her cousin. Aayush's eyes sparkled with interest as he asked, "That's so nice, but how do you want your partner to be?" His question was laced with a hint of curiosity, his tone gentle and non-judgmental. Avni took a deep breath, her eyes locking onto Aayush's as she shared her thoughts. "Aayush, everyone tells me to get married, but you know, I really don't want to get married now," she said, her voice firm and resolute. Aayush's expression was understanding, his eyes filled with empathy. "I respect your decision; it's all your choice," he said, his tone gentle and reassuring. "But doesn't your parents force you, or people say whatnot things for not getting married?" he asked, his curiosity getting the better of him. Avni's eyes clouded over, a hint of frustration creeping into her tone. "They did, but for them, I can't get married," she said, her voice laced with a hint of desperation. "What if the person I have met just for once or two times will be wrong for me?" she asked, her eyes searching Aayush's for understanding. Aayush's expression was somber, his eyes filled with a deep understanding. "That's true; one wrong decision can make your life hell," he said, his voice low and introspective. Avni's eyes sparkled with amusement as she replied, "Yeah." But before she could say anything else, Aayush's words caught her off guard. "But whoever will be your partner will be lucky to have you in his life," Aayush said, his voice filled with sincerity. His eyes locked onto Avni's, and for a moment, time stood still. Avni's laughter was a musical sound, a gentle tinkling that filled the air. "Really, Aayush?" she asked, her voice teasing, but her eyes sparkling with pleasure. Aayush's face was deadpan, his expression serious, but his eyes twinkling with mirth. "Don't laugh, Avni. You are gorgeous, hardworking, Kind, caring and your delicious food is the thing that the man will never leave you. But he should also help you" he said, his voice low and husky. Avni's laughter grew louder, more uninhibited, as she playfully hit Aayush's arm. "You're ridiculous, Aayush!" she exclaimed, her eyes shining with amusement. As the sun rose higher in the sky, casting a warm glow over the landscape, Avni and Aayush continued to talk and laugh, sharing their thoughts and dreams with each other. The group, too, began to stir, stretching their limbs and yawning as they woke up from their slumber. Aayush, sensing that everyone was ready for a break, stopped the car near a snack stall, the aroma of freshly cooked food wafting through the air and making everyone's stomach growl with hunger. As the group emerged from the car, they collectively stretched their bodies, arching their backs and extending their limbs. The morning sun cast a warm glow over the scene, illuminating the relaxed and contented expressions on their faces. Sushant, ever the observant one, couldn't help but comment on the obvious camaraderie between Avni and Aayush. "I think you both enjoyed the ride," he said, a knowing glint in his eye. Rahul, never one to miss an opportunity to tease, chimed in, "Yeah, they're looking so much happy!" His words were accompanied by a playful nudge, which sent Avni and Aayush into a fit of laughter. Payal and Saurabh, couldn't help but join in on the fun, their laughter and playful banter filling the air. Avni, still grinning from ear to ear, confirmed, "Yeah, we enjoyed!" The group's collective laughter and chatter continued as they indulged in some snacks, their joy and camaraderie palpable. After their break, the group rearranged themselves in the car, with Saurabh taking the driving seat, Payal riding shotgun, Sushant and Rahul in the middle, and Aayush and Avni bringing up the rear. As they continued their journey, the scenery outside transformed, giving way to picturesque village landscapes. The air was filled with the sweet scent of blooming flowers and the earthy smell of freshly tilled soil. The sound of birdsong and the gentle lowing of cattle created a soothing melody that seemed to match the rhythm of their hearts. As they drove through the village, they caught glimpses of rural life: cows and goats grazing in the fields, people commuting to work on bicycles and tractors, women cooking outside their homes on traditional hearths, and small children walking to school, their backpacks bobbing up and down as they chattered excitedly among themselves. The group's laughter and chatter gradually gave way to a comfortable silence, as they absorbed the serene beauty of their surroundings. The gentle rustle of the wind through the trees and the warm sunshine on their faces seemed to lull them into a state of tranquil contentment.
