Perry pictured the inside of Gemma’s house as he waited in the shadows outside, leaning against a tree. Her home always looked a little bit as though an enchanted tornado had just rushed through. It sounded like tonight was no different. Through the tree trunk and the glamour—which wasn’t as high quality as the glamour Perry’s parents had on their home—Perry could hear Gemma’s two younger brothers laughing and shouting. And then Gemma’s older sister Jazz shouting at them. Jazz didn’t officially live at home anymore, but she didn’t particularly like the house she now shared with two of her friends who’d also recently graduated, so she spent at least half her time back at home.
