Chapter 45: Akton
“Talfryn, you f**k,” muttered Akton to himself. He moved, trying to stay hidden and follow as Iyona disappeared down Keldoure streets and Talfryn pursued, lobbing easy throws at her. Whenever she blew his flame into a building he stopped to put it out, letting her widen the gap between them. Why he trusted her was beyond Akton, but he gritted his teeth and followed. Interfering could have been bad—and they needed to get to Basil, not waste energy on the wind wielder.
Finally Talfryn broke off and returned to him.
“Yell at me later,” he said, motioning with a hand and breaking into a run. “Come on.”
