Chapter 18: Talfryn Akton led them to an area of the town with more extensive fields, less well guarded, probably because it was assumed anyone trying to escape would be more easily picked off there. But Talfryn saw an opening—there were only four fighters that he could count, and as long as Akton kept his back toward him, he could use his fire on them like he had back at the pub. “I’ve got the two on the left,” he said, and when Akton shot him a look, he grinned and patted his pack. “I slipped a few Glenna-unapproved spells in here when we left.” Akton drew his sword, apparently fine enough with that explanation.
