Sorrel sat amidst the lush peach forest, surrounded by vibrant blooms and gentle rustling leaves. She closed her eyes, letting the serene atmosphere wash over her, and lifted her flute to her lips. Soft, melodic notes filled the air as she played, lost in the beauty of nature.
Kael approached quietly, his footsteps muffled by the soft earth. His presence was a paradox of human and otherworldly traits. His chiseled features, fiery red hair, and amber eyes seemed almost supernatural. His movements were fluid, and his skin possessed an iridescent sheen, hinting at a concealed truth. He paused at the edge of the clearing, waiting for Sorrel to finish her tune. His gaze rested on her tranquil form, her hair fell back in a loose braid, her fingers moving deftly over the flute.
As the last notes faded away, Sorrel didn't turn to acknowledge his presence. Instead, she asked, her voice calm and authoritative, "Is it done?"
"Yes." Kael replied almost instantly.
Sorrel lowered her flute, her fingers still resting on the instrument. "Alas, I can finally leave."
"You've grown up indeed. Back then, I wouldn't have believed you could have turned out like this."
Sorrel's gaze remained fixed on the horizon, her eyes narrowing. "I have you to thank for that."
Sorrel turned, her eyes locking onto Kael's. "As long as you're always with me, I have nothing to worry about." She smiled gently as she slid her flute into a leather case at her side, her movements fluid, and finally walked up to him.
"Let's go?" She asked to confirm. She watched as he raised his hand as if to touch her face, then picked out a peach petal from her hair.
"Now, we're set to go." He replied as they walked away from the peach forest.

"For this year's competition," Master Zoolander began, "as we all know, it was an open competition and those who don't belong to any of the sects are opportune to take part in it. In order to ensure fairness, each participant picks a number and you battle against those with the same numbers as you. The lucky persons who get number one do not need to take part in the martial prowess. All said and done, take your picks." He concluded.
Everyone was in motion, taking their picks until everyone had one. Master Zoolander settled everyone down as he asked those with the number one to indicate and step aside. There were five in total. One of them was picked by Lilith, an innocent looking dark short haired girl with dark eyes who belonged to the Meadowlark sect, Orion, an unserious looking popular guy from the Infernox sect, Zach, a member of the Krael sect, Gray, the top student from Infernox sect and Ronan, a strong looking guy with dark brown eyes and a gorgeous domineering look with no background.
Zoolander looked at the five people who had made it to the final round.
"Congratulations," he said. "You have earned a spot in the finals. Your martial prowess will be tested against the winners."
The crowd was intrigued by the diverse group of exempted participants.
Lilith, the girl from the Meadowlark sect, seemed out of place. Yet, she was determined.
Orion from the Infernox sect smiled confidently.
Zach, from the Krael sect, stood tall and looked confident.
Gray, the top student from the Infernox sect, seemed sure of himself.
Ronan, the mysterious participant, commanded attention with his presence.
Master Zoolander spoke to the other contestants.
"The competition will continue with the remaining brackets. Only the strongest will advance."
The martial arts competition began with intense battles. Each match showed amazing skill, but some were especially impressive.
As the brackets narrowed, winners emerged, eager to face the finalists.
It was time for the big showdown - seeking out the blood lotus.
