I cant see...
I cant think....
Everything feels so cold....
Am i dying?
What's that sound? That banging?
Siyas eyes opened to see thalor throwing himself against the glass she was once on the other side of. Everything was a blur. She wasn't in pain... but she felt so weak. Was this what I meant to be in shock? Valkyra rested her head next to Siyas hand.
Siya weakly lifted her hand and placed it on her snout. "Good g-irl" she said with a weak smile.
She wasn't afraid the dragons, of Thalor and Valkyra. She knew they would never harm her. After all she raised them. They were not beasts to her but her own babies.
Time seemed to slow for a moment as siya blinked. She had to get up. She had to get her sled as well as thalor and Valkyra out of there.
"Thalor" she spoke simply making him turn to her. "Come" she said and he went to her and nudged her gently with his snout. Siya lacked the strength but she knew she had to get up.
Siya leaned on both dragons and slowly and painfully began to stand. Pain radiated throughout her body. But she wouldn't stop. Finally with the help of thalor and Valkyra she stood.
She let out a deep heavy breath and her green eyes reflected the light almost making them look like they were glowing. "Burn this place to the ground" she told them.
Thalor and Valkyra didn't hesitate. They took in a deep breath and let out fire thalors orange fire mixed with Valkyras blue fire.
Alarms began to go off as she could hear people screaming. Thalor lowerd himself and siya climbed onto his back, grabbing hold of his spikes to keep her on him. The ceiling collapsed above them giving them room to take off and fly upward to freedom.
"We have to show you to the world now" siya said laying forward onto him as she grew weaker. Thalor lead and Valkyra followed as they flew towards the city
Thalor and Valkyra blasted out of the burning government facility.
The fire is behind them. The city is ahead.
And everyone on the ground sees it happen.
The explosion's echo still rolls through the trees when Thalor bursts upward, wings snapping open with a thunderous c***k. Valkyra follows a heartbeat later, her blue scales reflecting the orange glow of the burning facility below. Smoke coils around them as they climb, embers drifting like fireflies in their wake.
On the ground, chaos erupts.
Soldiers scramble back from the heat, shielding their faces as the flames roar higher. Radios crackle with overlapping orders. Someone shouts, "They're airborne! Both of them, they're heading toward the city!"
Agent Shallows stands frozen for a moment, staring up at the two dragons rising through the smoke. The firelight paints his face in harsh reds and golds. He lifts his radio slowly, voice tight.
"Do not engage. Track their trajectory. I want eyes on them the entire way."
But the people around him aren't nearly as composed.
A technician drops his tablet, staring upward with wide, terrified eyes.
A soldier mutters, "Holy... they're huge…"
Another backs away, tripping over debris as Valkyra's wings beat hard enough to shake the ground.
The facility burns behind them, metal collapsing, alarms wailing, sparks shooting into the sky, and the dragons rise through it like living myths.
Siya clings to Thalor's back, her arms wrapped around the base of his neck. Her wound throbs with every wingbeat, but she refuses to loosen her grip. The cold night air slams into her, stealing her breath, but she forces herself upright enough to look back.
The facility is a blazing crater now.
People are scattering.
"Go," she whispers, voice raw. "Go, Thalor… please."
He hears her.
Thalor tilts his wings and surges forward, leaving the fire behind. Valkyra roars once, a warning, a promise, before banking to join him. Together they streak toward the city, their silhouettes cutting across thr sky.
As they cross the outskirts, the world below changes.
Buildings.
Traffic.
People.
A couple walking their dog stops dead, the leash slipping from their hands as they stare upward.
A man on a balcony drops his drink, glass shattering at his feet.
A kid on a bike skids to a halt, mouth hanging open.
Phones come out instantly.
Someone screams.
Someone else whispers, "Dragons… those are dragons…"
Cars slow.
Horns blare.
Pedestrians scatter or freeze, unsure whether to run or watch.
Thalor's wings cast massive shadows over rooftops. Valkyra's scales catch the sunlight, shimmering like a comet. Siya's silhouette is barely visible, slumped forward, clinging desperately as her blood stains Thalor's dark scales.
Above the city, sirens begin to rise, not police, but emergency broadcast tones echoing from towers.
Agent Shallows' voice crackles through radios across the district:
"Lock down airspace. They're heading straight for downtown."
But the dragons don't slow.
Thalor pushes harder, wings trembling from exhaustion. Valkyra flies close, protective, her eyes scanning the sky for threats. Siya's vision blurs, but she keeps her grip, refusing to fall.
The city stretches out beneath them, bright, loud, alive. and every single person who looks up sees something they will never forget.
Two dragons.
Finally Siya commands them to land in the park. The only place with enough space to land safely.
A crowd quickly begins to form. "THESE ARE MY DRAGONS!" Siya yells. "I RAISED THEM FROM THE TIME THYE HATCHED FROM THEIR EGG" she added. "And the government wants to hide them from you" she told them. "So much so they tried to kill me to keep me from saving them after they ripped them away from me"
"THALOR AND VALKYRA! MY DRAGONS ARENT EVIL OR DANGEROUS THE ONLY ONES WHO ARE DANGEROUS ARE THE PEOPLE WE BELIEVED WOULD KEEP US SAFE AND THAT NEEDS TO CHANGE" she yelled.
"So this is me saying here and now if anyone tried to come after my babies again I will show them what there really is to be afraid of" she said simply
The crowd was silent unsure what to think. Suddenly siya lost her balance falling onto valkyra, before finally everything went black.
