When they got into the event, Amanda heard the shout and stopped. She knew it had to come but didn’t know that it would be so soon.
"Damn," she thought, but tried to control her fear and her urge to run from that place.
She turned around carefully and looked at the man who seemed to let fire out of his eyes.
"Mr. Vance," she smiled as if she didn't feel it, "it's a pleasure to meet you. Have you met my escorts yet?"
"You..."
"My pleasure, Mr. Vance," Michael stepped forward, "my name is Michael Stark, I'm Miguel's brother, who will be here later."
Liam didn't shake his hand, just looked at him for a moment before returning his eyes to Amanda.
"What are you doing here?"
Amanda frowned. "I was invited, Mr. Vance, like everyone here. What else could I be doing here?"
A waiter came over with glasses of wine on his tray. Samuel took one and offered it to Amanda with a smile and a wink.
"Thank you, honey," Amanda smiled back. "Mr. Vance, do you need anything else from me?"
"We need to talk," Liam said, about to take her hand and pull her out onto the balcony.
But Amanda dodged immediately. "Mr. Vance, we are not remotely close to having a private conversation alone. This is the first time I've ever seen you."
Amanda smiled. Since they got married, they had established to keep their relationship private, no one could find out that she was his wife, and if for some reason a rumor got out, Liam threatened to divorce her and close her family’s business.
Amanda couldn't allow that, at least not before she got divorced. Her father and his new wife would not stop pestering her and trying to ask her for money every day. She had already blocked them on her phone twice but they always have ways to contact her.
Liam looked at her with surprise and anger at the same time. He didn't expect that this woman who seemed to have been in love with him for so long would now completely reject him.
"Michael, we had better go say hi to the other guests," Amanda said, putting her hand on Michael's arm.
The man smiled at her and locked her hand in his hand in an intimate gesture. "Let’s go, darling."
The other three men stayed for a second to greet Mr. Vance, then walked after Amanda.
Liam watched as Samuel put his hand on Amanda's waist and the other three entertained her with funny comments as they walked around. No one could stop watching them as they seemed to be a sparkling group.
"Liam, are you okay?"
Liam ignored Mina again, walking to the other side immediately. He needed fresh air. At that moment, it was impossible to understand what he was feeling. It was absurd. How could he be so angry with Amanda? She was nothing. She did not mean anything.
"Damn!"
The party continued, but Amanda was already tired. Michael had gone out to receive a call from Johanna, who seemed to be sorry for having thrown the cake in his face that day.
She had stayed with Samuel but he had also gone to greet several producers at that time, with the other two, and now she was alone and vulnerable. She went to the balcony quickly to rest from the burning glances that she had felt on her back for several minutes. A waiter offered another glass of wine and she accepted.
"I knew I shouldn't have come," she whispered and took a sip of the wine.
However, not many seconds later, her head began spinning.
"Miss Vance?" she heard a voice say, and knew very well who it belonged to. "Are you alright?"
Amanda turned around but felt even dizzier. She could only observe Mina's anxious face before everything went dark.

"Mina, are you sure about this? They're already divorced, you don't have to…"
"Yes, I have to," Mina muttered with a furious expression, "did you see Liam’s attitude tonight? He kept looking at her as if he were to engulf her! This i***t is trying to seduce him again. She's shameless. She forces him to marry her first, and now that Liam has opened his eyes, she wants to mess him up again."
Jacob shook his head wearily as he carried the red-dressed woman over his shoulder. She knew that Mina was never as innocent as she looked, but she didn't understand that sudden change from one day to the next.
"Is everything ready?" Mina asked when she got to the room.
Jacob nodded, "they're just photos, right?"
Mina gave him a severe look, then nodded with an innocent smile.
Jacob swallowed. He had been Mina's friend since college, he knew that she was an excellent actress, and everyone admired her beauty and tenacity. She was also gentle and adorable.
Therefore, when she told him about her plan to ruin Amanda Lind, he couldn't believe it.
"Of course,” Mina answered with a soft and harmless tone, “they're just ambiguous angle photos, nothing more. Don't worry."
Mina opened the room and looked around, "leave her there."
"But..."
"Go check the hotel security cameras, we don't want anyone to find out she's here."
"Are you sure about this? Mr. Vance won't like it..."
"He'll never know," Mina smiled, "even more, he hates her but he's seduced by her, just like everyone else. Did you see the harem she brought to the event? She's a slut..."
Jacob frowned and nodded with a bit of hesitation. In the end, he left the room. He had to make sure that the virus he installed in the security system was working. He couldn't afford to be caught conspiring with Mina.
Mina, on the other hand, smiled and reached for her phone. "She's already here, come quickly, I want everyone to realize what kind of woman this w***e is."
She watched Amanda for a few more seconds and turned around. Soon those men would come to the room and spend a passionate night with Amanda. They didn't even ask for money in return.
Mina smiled and walked out, leaving the unconscious Amanda behind, or so she thought.
Amanda's eyes opened at that moment. She had been awake for several minutes. It seems that she did not take as much of the drug as they thought, but she still felt her body burning.
"I can't stay here," she told herself and stood up. "I have to get out quickly..."
She dragged her body out of bed immediately but felt her legs staggering from side to side, and her eyes were not focusing.
She managed to take off her shoes and walk to the elevator, then she pressed the button, but she didn't know which one... it was better to go up, for now, and wait for Michael to find her.
The elevator doors opened and Amanda walked in without seeing who was inside.
She leaned back against the frozen wall and sighed. The freshness in her back made her moan a little. Still, she couldn’t focus.
"Amanda?" a thick, powerful voice spoke to her, "What's wrong with you?"
