Morning felt terrible my head ached all over and damn I was weak what happened?

Visually I remember being in the club with the girls the night before drinking and....... s**t!!! I can't remember nothing again

" You up?" That was Alfredo's voice he was sitting down in my room on the edge of the bed staring down at me his eyes void of expression so I can't tell what exactly was going on in his mind, well that wasn't new I read zero of his expression most times except when he was like so pissed.

"Alfredo ?" I called his name while I managed to sit up with him staring down at me

" What happened last night?" He asked and I looked down at my clothes but I was in my pyjamas how the hell did that happen ?

" What are you talking about ?" I asked trying to sound as normal as possible

" You dismissed Stella quite early and went off with the guard but you got home quite an hour plus after you left the company " he said

" So is watching my every movement now like a thing?" I asked but he just stared in at me obviously waiting for an answer

" Well I went for a little drive around town I needed air " I said and he looked at me in doubt

"Well not like you were gonna believe me anyway" I said and looked away

" Be careful Alexis " he said and went out through the door as Rita came in her face showing concern .

" Am so sorry ma'am I didn't mean ...."

" It's okay Rita just get my bath and clothes ready I need to get something done " I said and went up the balcony to clear my head a little and see how much of last night I'll be able to remember

" Okay ma'am " she said and hurried off "

By the way where the hell was that bodyguard of a guy .........?

" Morning" His voice hit me as soon as I entered the car I just ignored him although in my head I badly wanted to ask him what went down yesterday as I can't remember s**t but Rita was sitting in this circle and that is such a bad idea

" I told the maids to get you changed after I took you to bed " he said in light whispers to the back of my ear while we stood in front of the elevator door that I almost couldn't hear him, made me wonder how he knew exactly what I was thinking . But I wasn't gonna say thank you when he was just doing his job , although I badly wanted to ask how he managed to get me to my room and the mere thought of being carried in his arms got me having the chills

" Well if you had been more careful this wouldn't have happened" Alfredo voice reached the roof as he yelled in despair she just said she was pregnant and my O my this was a good news at a wrong time

" I tried I have been on birth control ever since the last mistake but I don't know how it happened " she said her eyes welling in tears

" Good thing you know it was a mistake cause you are not keeping this thing" he said half heartedly

" Not again this will be the second time I'll be doing an abortion Alfredo this is not safe " sha pleaded but his mind was made up he can't have this child ruining his ambitions

" Well I am married and you know it " he said as she cast him a murderous glare

"O spare me that s**t hole of a speech we both know you never wanted her and it's always been me " she said in hateful spite

"But you know what surrounds this marriage and I can't break it off now not when the election is around the corner " he said as she rolled her eyes in disgust

" Well Alfredo I'll keep this baby and am giving you time till it's born to get rid of Alexis or I'll do so myself mtchewww" she said and stormed out of the office while Alfredo sank into his chair in complete disarray he can't leave Alexis not now and neither can he let Amy go not when she was carrying his child besides Alexis has not had a child for him yet but who was he kidding how was that supposed to be possible when he has never touched her aside the night of her wedding when he almost choked her to death

" Alfredo stop it hurts I can't breathe."Alexis cried out in faint breath while Alfredo thrust into her his hand tightly gripped around her neck

" It's meant to hurt b***h " he said as he thrust her faster and tightened his grip on her neck when he finally released himself outside her on the bed cause he couldn't risk this always miss perfect little goddess carrying his child, he noticed she was not responding her eyes were closed and her breath was slow

" Alexis get up you gotta leave my room we can't share the same bed tonight not now not ever" he said as he dressed up but she didn't move a muscle leaning closer he could see her breath was unsteady and slow he cried out to his security guards and she was rushed to the hospital so yes Alexis spent her wedding night on the hospital bed

Touching her neck lightly as she felt the scar behind it the memories of that dreadful night came in view oh how much she hated that supposed husband of hers

" Mrs Cortez " Rita voice while her out of the few moments of reverie that she was lost in

" A minute Rita " she said as she finished touching up her makeup and stepped outside

" We have an emergency your mother in law is waiting for you at home " Rita said

" Is my husband aware ?" Alexis asked a bit tensed her mother in law's visits always put her on the edge cause both she and Alfredo have to act like they are happily married of which they ain't obviously

" Yes I have informed Mr Cortez his on his way to pick you up " Rita said just as expected Alfredo will do anything to make his mother believe they were the most perfect couple

Just as she was about to leave her office Alfredo was already waiting for her downstairs a message beeped in her phone from some anonymous number opening it she stood transfixed at the spot

" Are you okay ma'am ?" His warm voice jerked her back to reality as she stared up at him her eyes filled with tears shocked and unable to respond to this sudden change Paxton stuttered trying to find words or rather what to say he has never seen her like that and he wondered what could have made her look that way after seconds of immense silence he only managed to blurt..

" Should I call Rita ?" He asked as she dried her eyes with her pal m

" Am fine let's go" she said as they walked to the elevator together with Paxton keeping her at close range that was when she noticed a few heads turning and lips moving all in awe of his aura he seemed to impress alot of people by doing nothing but just walking behind her so at alert here she was thinking she was the only one who felt intimidated by his features

" Mother is ....." Alfredo started as soon as she got close enough

" Am aware let's just get there and get this over and done with, am sure you don't wanna be by my side as much as I don't wanna be by yours. " she said as she entered the car that he opened the door for her sometimes this sweet little gestures of his warmed her heart but when reminded of what purpose they were offered her heart ached back to it's original state

Mrs Cortez in her late fifties but still as gracious as a young lady the smile she had on the days of her youth was never diminishing and so did the aura she possessed that was meant to instill fear but in someway brought warmth to Alexis technically she was the only one who ever had her back in the family which she had been married into

Alexis seemed quite unsettled and that made me also unsettled she didn't even cast me a glance not even once out of mistake, I wondered if she knew about the pregnancy well she wouldn't know if she did I was damn sure she would have confronted me the minute she saw my face but she had that look that I couldn't even read was it just me or did her side view make my heart leap just like they did 2 years ago when she walked down the aisle to get married to me and all I ever did was make her a working partner well it wasn't my fault I didn't force her to marry me she had to either ways

Mom had a big smile on her face when she sighted us coming down from the car placing my hands lightly around her waist I led my wife into the house while our guards strode behind at a reasonable distance

"Oh my look at you my dear always so beautiful " mom said as she embraced her and placing a kiss on both side of her cheeks beaming with heavy smiles then she in turn hugged me cracking a joke of how I looked so up tight like my father of course I was uptight right now it's like I could barely breathe I wondered if this was guilt or me just being soft, well I'll go with the first the second is not an option for a Cortez .

" I think Alexis will be the most perfect candidate to tour for the event she's good at such things " I said as I gazed in her direction she seemed uneasy but with a smile on her face

" Of course mom I'll do it anything for the company" she said and that Impressed my mother

" Of course I knew you could, I always had it in mind that you would be an asset to the company and my son am so glad we all made the right decision " mom said

" Well am glad too he is such a ..erm ...yunmo wonderful husband..." Alexis said placing her palm on my hands smiling but all I could see in those eyes of hers were the urge to get out of here

" So how is it going with you both ?" Mom asked as we stared at her a little confused I could see that in Alexis face

" Well we are good mom nothing out of the ordinary" I said it was so hot here I wonder if the air conditioner was working at all

" I mean kids!! " mom said as Alexis spurt out her drink coughing

" Am sorry I ....erm ...I .....will need to use the rest room , a moment please " she said and left

"Is she pregnant already?" Mom asked her eyes wide open like some kid expecting a mystery Christmas present

" I ermm.... need to give check on my wife a minute please " i said and went into her room just as she was coming out of the rest room

" What was the meaning of that ?" I asked

" Well am not the one who would break the news to your mom that you haven't touched me for two years " she said as she made to walk past me

" Wait .... " I said as I grabbed her arm and drew her close myself breath on her neck she smelled so sweet like I craved to lick bite and devour her skin

" What are you doing ?" She asked

It's either Alfredo was losing it or has lost it or maybe the tension his mom had created in the room had him acting up but he held me like he needed me his breath on my neck stiffled my breath and suddenly my cheeks felt red and it became quite hot and sweaty

" I want you now......." He said his breath increasing heavily so was my heart beat I needed a save as I thought about our first night a rush of panic swept through me

" Ma'am " a voice called outside as a tap on the door followed and Alfredo pushed me aside and walked out of the door swinging it open to reveal the face of Paxton as he stood there just staring and then my heart leaped why did they leap but one thing was sure looking at his face I felt something I haven't felt in years
