My mind went into a frenzy when he said they should throw me out of the pack. I had to think of something fast; I couldn't afford to miss this opportunity. This was my only chance to deal with Elijah; if I missed this opportunity, I would have to succumb and stay under Elijah for life.
My thoughts ran a hundred miles in one second, and finally it clicked. I remember something Zada said to me the day he told me about Alpha Zino.
“Wait!” I screamed, “I heard you do not do anything without receiving something in return.” That seemed to get his attention. “I will give you whatever you want.” And that statement did exactly what I wanted it to do. I got him interested, and finally, things were looking up.
