ELSA'S POV
I pushed the door to the library open on one swing and ran down the hall. My feet moved fast, eager to get me to my mate. My heart thumped in my chest as the adrenaline in my blood pushed me faster than my limit.
As I ran, I kept trying to mindlink him, but the connection wasn't there. I tried to mindlink Mark, but it still couldn't reach him. I couldn't understand what was going on; if they had blocked it, I would have felt the wall, but this was different; it felt like the connection wasn't there at all.
