Chapter 15

Vivian Days turned into weeks, and weeks into months. I was training hard while keeping up with all my schoolwork. Rocco had found a place where I could take my exams, which I was grateful for. I’d been feeling under the weather for a while but chose to ignore it—I wanted to learn how to protect myself. I had also agreed to be homeschooled until the end of the year, which wasn’t far away now. I was tired and achy, but I knew I had to push through to become stronger—to fight back against the bullies who had caused me so much pain. I hadn't seen or heard from Alex or his brothers in a long time, which was a relief. But I could feel it—there was a storm brewing. I didn’t know where or why, but something was coming. Day by day, I was getting stronger, and I appreciated everything Rocco was doing for me. I had the utmost respect for him and his men. I knew I should be scared of them, but I wasn’t. We were in the gym training. Left hook, right hook. Left jab, right jab. High kick, low kick, spinning kick. “Right, that’s it for today, angel. Rocco’s going to be pleased with your progress—he’s got a surprise for you.” I smiled widely at Antonio. He was my mentor when Rocco wasn’t around, like the big brother I never had. Rocco strolled into the room with his usual calm confidence. “So, how was training today?” he asked. “It’s going well, boss. She’s really coming on.” “Good.” He looked at me. “Come, Vivian. I have a surprise for you.” I looked at Antonio. He grinned and wiggled his eyebrows. I rolled my eyes. I took off my leather-padded gloves and body padding, jumped over the ropes, and landed firmly on my feet. They both grinned. Rocco held out his hand. “Come on, sweet pea. No more showing off for today.” I smiled and took his hand. He looked at Antonio. “Same time tomorrow, bro?” “Same time.” Rocco and Antonio were blood brothers. Though they looked nothing alike, they shared the same temperament. I never asked what their work involved—it wasn’t my business unless they made it mine. He led me out of the gym, across the training ground, and to a building I hadn’t been in before. I’d never been allowed out this far, so this was new to me. He opened the door and pulled me inside. The lighting was dim until he flicked a switch. Then the whole room lit up, revealing an arsenal of weapons. “Welcome to my weapons room. It’s yours too now,” he said. I looked at him, confused. “I don’t understand.” “This is your surprise. Aren’t you surprised?” I nodded slowly. “I am... but why?” He looked at me with dark, unreadable eyes. “You’ve excelled in your training, Vivian. This is your next level—learning to use the weapons in here, and how to use them correctly.” “Okay, but when would I ever use these?” He grinned. “I’ve watched you from the day you leaped over that seven-foot gate. You’re a survivor. You surprised me—survived that asshole’s company. You’re strong, Vivian. And I want you to work for me... as an assassin. I know you’ve got it in you.” He paused. “I’ll be training you, along with Antonio and Anton—our weapons specialists. You’ll meet Anton tomorrow, if you agree.” I met his eyes and smirked. “I’ll agree... on one condition.” “Name it, sweet pea.” “When my training is complete, I want to take down everyone who turned against me and bullied me—including Alex and his brothers.” “Agreed.” “Then we have a deal,” I said, holding out my hand. He shook it with a smirk, pulling me toward him. “One more thing, Vivian,” he whispered in my ear. I looked at him. “You’re mine,” he said, then pressed his lips to mine and kissed me. --- Rocco I slowly opened my eyes, remembering everything that had happened the night before. The way she felt in my arms. The way her kiss sent tingles through my body. The way I lost control. She had changed so much over the months, her medium-built body now toned with muscle from training. I didn’t even know when this attraction had begun. When I first hit her with my car and brought her to my home, all I saw was a scared, hurt girl. But I was curious—what was she running from? She wasn’t at all what I expected. She was strong-willed and extremely intelligent. The moves she had pulled that night were pure gymnastics. I soon realized she must’ve trained for years to be that agile. She had done it again when she saw Alex and his brothers in my home—something she wasn’t supposed to. It was lucky Antonio had been guarding her room. If she had gotten further, no doubt she would’ve tried to leap the wall just to escape. Antonio, my twin and second in command, was quick-witted. They got on well, and I knew they respected each other deeply. Vivian was unlike any other girl. She was determined to stand up to those who bullied her. She was hell-bent on revenge, and I admired that fire in her. I still didn’t know what the Alessandros had on her, but I’d find out. Last night, I took her virginity. I knew she was pure, and now—she was mine. I hadn’t meant for it to go that far, but when I kissed her... I couldn’t stop. Her lips were addictive—my drug. Once I started, I couldn’t hold back. I kissed her deeply, lifted her, felt her grind against me through my jeans. We somehow made it to the bedroom. I lay her on the bed and pulled back, looking at her seriously. “Are you sure, sweet pea?” She nodded. I grinned and went back to kissing her, tearing our clothes off. I lifted her legs onto my shoulders, taking in her beauty. I entered her slowly, listening to her moans as I filled her. It was pure, raw pleasure. I started slow but quickly lost control. I slammed into her faster, harder, as her moans grew louder. We climaxed together, collapsing into each other. “You’re my sweet pea,” I whispered, kissing her shoulder. “No one will ever come between us.” I smiled as I moved her hair from her face. I hoped she didn’t regret what happened. I know I didn’t. She slowly opened her eyes, looking confused. “Rocco?” “Good morning, sweet pea,” I said with a smile. She smiled back. I touched her face gently. “How are you feeling?” “A little sore.” I smiled. I knew she would be—it would get better the more we did it. “You don’t regret it, do you?” She looked at me. “No. Do you?” “Not at all. You’re mine. I have no regrets.” “What do you mean by ‘I’m yours’?” I laughed softly. “You belong to me. You’re mine. I’ve chosen you to stand by my side—as my queen. Together, we’ll take down everyone who’s ever wronged us.” She nodded. “Are you sure you don’t regret this, Vivian? Because if you do... it’s too late to walk away. You agreed. There’s no turning back.” She met my eyes. “I understand. I want this, Rocco.” “Good answer,” I said, kissing her lips. “Now let’s get dressed and eat. I want to introduce you to Anton.” “Okay.” We got out of bed, showered, changed into our combat gear, and headed to breakfast—ready for whatever came next.
