My eyes opened weakly. I saw myself in a room that was white everywhere. A hospital. I felt extremely debilitated as the pain from earlier rushed back in with the same intensity as before. It was so painful I wished I’d never woken up. I heard someone talking outside my room. Everything hurt so much I rarely could move, so I tried to listen from the same position I woke up in. It took me a second to realize it was a doctor speaking. “Her condition is very critical. We are not really sure she can make it,” He said. For some reason, neither did it shock me nor got me fearing for death. But I at least waited for sadness to overwhelm me - it didn’t come.
