36 Exhaustion was etched into every line of Burke’s face as he slowly made his way along the corridor to the room where he had left Nathan. He was bone-tired, and wanted nothing more than to find a corner in which he could curl up and sleep for the next day, if not longer; that option was not available to him, however, there was too much for him to do. All he could hope was that now they knew - perhaps not with a one hundred percent certainty, but with enough for the purposes of the investigation - who was responsible for the murders, they would be able to catch him and close the case soon, perhaps even today; it wasn’t much of a hope, but it was something to cling to.
