“WHAT’S THE SITUATION?” Collins asked of Burke when he reached him. Looking around he saw that the street had been completely blocked, and that uniformed officers were keeping the curious, mostly the street’s occupants, but there were others there, including journalists and reporters, at a safe distance.
“Not good, sir,” Burke answered unhappily. “Information is sketchy at present, but as far as we can tell Walker is in the house with four hostages: DC Grey, Tim Dewson, and the two Dewson children, Sonia, nine, and Calvin, six. There’s been no communication with either Walker or any of the hostages as yet, at least nothing constructive.”
