The reports of ‘clear’ came in quickly as the armed response team moved through the house, checking each room in turn. It was less than five minutes before the final radio call came in from Sergeant White.
“The house is clear, sir,” White said. “There’s no sign of the suspect. We do have a problem, though...” He hesitated for a few moments, and then continued, “We found a body in the living room.”
Nathan was left speechless by that. He had expected a few things from the raid on the house belonging to the man whose blood had been found on Terry Fielding’s shirt, but a body was not one of them. “Could it be the suspect?” he asked when he found his voice.’
