“This right here makes this whole trip worth it,” Luke remarked. “And makes me glad I needed that one last OPI credit for my license renewal.”
Ryan held her ice cream cone to the side as she leaned across the table and kissed him. He smiled against her lips, tasting the mint chocolate chip on her. So close to her, he noticed again how her dark green turtleneck sweater brought out the darker flecks in her green eyes.
“Why are you looking at me like that?” she asked.
“You’re beautiful,” he replied. “I remember thinking after that first day back to work, when you pulled up behind me, that you have the kind of shy beauty I could see every day of my life and only find more to appreciate.”
