“You know, I’ve never really gotten into Halloween, but I think I might have to start.”
Ryan grinned and fastened the silver-accented cape around his shoulders. “It was always a pretty big deal in our house, but we usually went with something like this instead of ghoulish costumes.”
He closed his door to see the result in the full-length mirror on the back. “It’s strangely flattering,” he remarked.
“It’s very flattering,” Ryan corrected. “Hello, handsome.”
He grabbed the sword belt and fake rapier, kissed Ryan soundly on the mouth, and threaded his fingers through hers before leading her out to the living room where Alex was waiting for them.
