The door creaked open, and Clara barged into the room, her bag slung haphazardly over her shoulder. Her expression was a mix of exhaustion and frustration as she dropped the bag onto her bed and plopped down beside it. “I’m starving,” she groaned, flinging her head back dramatically. “And don’t even get me started on how long I waited for you at the market.” I looked up from the chair by the window where I was sitting, trying to sort through the chaotic thoughts in my mind. “I’m sorry, Clara,” I said softly. “I couldn’t make it.” Clara sat up abruptly, her eyes narrowing. “Couldn’t make it?
