Mike and I make love in the morning, then we make breakfast for everyone.
I sit by Chris. "What's on the agenda for today?"
"Not a damn thing. The ball is tomorrow. Today we can do whatever we want."
Conner moves the steak to the middle of the table. "Do you go home after the ball?"
Cyrus fills his plate. "2 days later."
I feel sad but I don't know why.
"You can all come visit Eldervale. We could show you how we live. It is a lot different."
I grab some cottage cheese salad. "It would be neat to see."
Mike nods. "Maybe in the spring or summer. We can see the beaches that way too."
"You can see them now. Actually, this is the best time of year. The leaves will start to change color soon. The evenings get cooler."
Conner sits back with his coffee. "How much longer are we here?"
