The ground was smoldering hot and sent up a disorientating haze. In the blinding light of June afternoon the place mirrored the semi molten lava, hot and bothering. The scorched sand shimmered in the intense invisible rays of the sun. The tree stood mute in the summer air, even the birds were silent and the grass stood still as if too hot to move.  Ale snaked his hand down my waist before making me walk with him to the lines of shiny black cars that stood at a distance. We were in Rome. That is where they lived, the Eternal city, is the capital and largest city of Italy. I remembered I read in school about the history of Rome, italy.it was famous for being the home of the ancient roman empire, the Seven Hills, La Dolce Vita, the Vatican City and Three Coins in the Fountain.
