22 Fern Snow flurries filled the air by the time Svein returned. I’d kept the fire burning high, using the stack of wood he’d left and not venturing one step beyond the cave. As soon as his blond head came into view, I rose to greet him. He grinned and raised his arm, showing me the rabbits in his hand. “Oh, well done,” I breathed. His grin widened.
