Diaz looked at Roselle who was still in her seated position, he couldn't even believe she could go back and get Ann's daughter " but why?" He asked as she simply smiled " I can't ever be a mother, yet someone bore you a child, that girl will forever be your blood and that's the most important thing. I asked Ann not to ever show me her face again. I've brought joey home, we're going to adopt her treat her like our own child and whatever happened to Laxmi would never happen to her" Roselle said wiping her tears as Diaz hugged her. Time turned into years and joey become popularized as the only child the Diaz family has ever had but Roselle and Diaz would never forget their child Laxmi. Dad turned his head to the floor as tears began to drip down his eyes, he couldn't ever forget such an incident. Mom got up from the chair and laid down on the bed, she opened her closet and brought out the picture of Laxmi ( whom I have no idea of ) as dad turned to her " I understand everything, I know we've come to love joey as her own, I know we don't want to lose her too but you need to take it easy on her, she's old enough, soon to be sixteen, you can't have her locked up forever" dad said without looking at mom as he laid and faced the other side of the bed shutting his eyes. It was the next morning as I jumped up from bed, I quickly took my shower and proceeded downstairs for breakfast ' good morning mom, good morning dad" I greeted as dad grimed shaking his head as for mom she didn't even reply to my greetings, she sat down whisking her tea with a very sorrowful face " mom" I said with a subtle tone as I hugged her " what's wrong?" I asked her as she gave no response, she just got up and walked slowly upstairs " dad" I murmured as he just gained enough strength to stand up " enjoy your day" he said walking out of the house as I just held my head " my gosh!" I yelled looking up the stairs as I carried my bag leaving .

I got to school Williams high school as I walked into the school house " hello my good friend" Maya one of my friends yelled running to hug me as I forced a smile " what's up with your mood?" She asked noticing I'm not the same as I sat down " it's nothing , where's Julia?" I asked as she laughed pointing toward the end of the hall where I saw Julia doing her usual stuff. Let me tell you more about my friends, I have three amazing best friends Maya, Julia and Robin . Maya is the extrovert, always loud and noisy, very competitive, she's the tallest amongst us all, very light skinned and thin, Julia is our English lord. She deals with high class English, her diction Is on point, we call her the over Sabi madam, she's very short, dark with brown hair, white pair of teeth and glasses for her short sightedness. Robinson the only male in the squad is an introvert, never likes talking always quite, the kind of guy you would call a science whiz, although his quiet the Prince charming, average hit, tall and very respectful and lastly me, your loud, extrovert, shy, rich kid, very good at maths, stink at geography and literature, your average brown skin girl, tall small back, small front. " Hellooo" Maya shouted bringing me back to reality as I just shook my head, and yes I have a very strong imagination " Good morning concubines, have any of you fellows seen my thesaurus?" Julia asked as I turned to Julia wondering when we became concubines as we laughed going into the classroom. The class was noisy as usual until Mr Dennis came into the class, he was our maths tutor as we all greeted " yea, morning, I guess you all have a new student" he said as someone as handsome as Romeo walked majestically into the classroom, he was tall, had a very good muscular structure, six packs, curly hair, blue eyes and an amazing smile " good morning, I'm Julius Caesar, but you can call me JC " he said as all everyone clapped.

" Okay, JC , go seat over there" Mr Dennis said as JC moved swiftly like a ghost to his supposed seat " good day" an angelic voice said as I smiled like a fish staring into space, I could imagine dating JC as he tapped me " hello" he said again as Maya hit my head " ouch" I said turning to her as she pointed towards JC as I looked at the empty seat in front of me " good day...." I shyly said as he smiled taking his seat. Immediately Mr Dennis left noise came like a roaring lion, the noise filled the air like a very dangerous gas as many girls came flirting with JC who seemed to just give out a simple smile, I would have suggested he was dump if he never introduced himself to the class. ' hello handsome, can I exchange our numerical digits?" Julia asked as jc just smiled looking at Julia who was holding her glasses and poking out her eyes like a waiting hunter in search for a prey but JC did not still utter a word to her " no noise!" We heard principle Darian say as he came into the classroom, his voice sent chill, as the class was as quiet as a graveyard "your chemistry teacher is here, please do introduce yourself to the class" principle Darian say as a voice from inside the class rose up " i think I've done that before!" JC said as we all held her mouth looking like confused goats " I'm Julius Caesar, once again but you call me JC, I'm your chemistry teacher, I'm 30 years old, don't look at my young facial looks, your maths tutor thought I was a student, so as many of you but I'm your teacher" JC said as a loud murmur was heard in the class " what a classical bastardized information!" Julia exclaimed poking her grey eyes out of her colourful glasses, as for me, I'm shock beyond human imagination, how's this possible, a cute teacher, I'm such an i***t, I thought resting my head on the desk. It was the close of school as my friends and I tried to hide out of the school " students!" JC , sorry Mr JC called out as we turned to look at him Witt awkward smiles " what's your name?" He asked creating eye contact with me as I looked down " Joey . L. Diaz" I mumbled without looking at him " general Diaz?" He asked sitting up with some sort of interest

I looked at JC and wondered how he knew my name " Roselle, your mom right?" He asked as I shook my head " what's with all the suffocating hold up?" Julia asked as JC shook his head " you can go " he said as we moved out of the classroom. I got up dropping my bag on the chair " good afternoon MoMA" I greeted mom who smiled, her countenance has been better than earlier " I'm going to the market, I'm not going to take long, just help yourself to what ever you want in the kitchen" she said as I smiled " alright mom" I said as she went outside and locked the door from outside. After taking my cold bath, I walked into the kitchen, it was already to five as I turned on the gas cooker, a yawn flew freely from my mouth as I rested on the couch with a pillow beneath my legs and below my head. I watched the ceiling fan as sleep drew me and I soon gave into it. The loud sound of the fire alert and the loud hit on the door made me change a sleeping position, the room was unusually hot " joey.......!" I heard mom scream as I jacked up from sleep, the smoke and the flames took over my eyes as I fell on the floor, I tried to get up but it seems I've already inhaled alot of smoke " joey......." Moms pleading voice shaking with tears came again, I coughed repeatedly trying to crawl towards the door but I couldn't, I was just too weak, the blazing fire and the smoke made it difficult for them to break open the door as I laid on the floor " Joey dear, my child, please stay with me" I could hear mom's crying voice say faintly as I gave up to whatever was calling me. The fire ambulance came as firemen began to break up the door and tried to quench the unquenchable fire. " She inhaled alot of smokes but she's going to be okay" the doctor said to mom who held her chest in relief seating on the chair with tears flowing freely from her eyes " how many times I've I warned her!" Dad's angry voice could be heard from far beyond

" I don't know how many times I'll sound it to you to stop locking up this girl from inside, she's not a goat nor any form of animal" dad yelled at mom who was still on the chair silently weeping, she's not even going to battle word's against him because she knew she's at fault " I just want to keep her safe, shes all I have" mom said holding her mouth to hold back more tears, the sound of mom's weeping voice woke me up as I slowly flashed my eyes open and close, I could barely speak yet I have feeling so heavy, I wanted to tell dad not to yell any longer, not to blame mom for it, not to allow her waste more tears but I couldn't, I was so weak and speechless, all I could do was to watch them with my eyes barely open " I Know very well that you want to protect her but this is not the right way, you're killing my only blood!' dad yelled as mom's countenance changed, she slowly lifted her head and glared her eyes at dad " what did you say, I don't think I heard you well?" She asked standing up " you know exactly what I mean, you're doing everything because she's not your blood but the child of your house help, if you truly loved her you wouldn't endanger her life" he yelled as I tried downloading the information into my head, mom is not my biological mother? ' you sound so stupid Diaz, that girl you say I don't love is the product of your infidelity, a child you abandoned, a child I took care of from birth?, I see!" Moms voice which was so low came rumbling in my ears " just stop harming my child!" Dad yelled as mom picked up her bag ready to leave " mom don't go!" The fainting sound of my voice echoed out as she turned to look at me with eyes red like the blood moon, she gave no words but her eyes said it all, she was deeply hurt with thousands of words to say but speechless as she walked out of the ward. I looked at dad as he narrated everything to me, I couldn't help but to shed tears
